Hey guys I am really looking forward for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. My question is, should I play Deus Ex in order to have a greater understanding of Human Revolution? Also where can I buy it? Thanks!

DE:HR is a prequal, so in theory you should not have needed to play DE.

Deus Ex however is a really good game, you could buy it on Steam for something like 10 bucks.

If you are going to try Deus Ex, be warned that the game is old and the first level isn't anything special. It's possible that you won't get into the game.

You also should not expect a FPS game. Do not focus on the FPS aspects.

It's a RPG/Steath game mainly, with loose FPS elements to it.

Those FPS elements were weak back then in 2000 compared to other shooters (HL, UT99, Quake, etc.), and they are weak now.

But the atmosphere, story, characters, certain mechanics, the freedom to approach any situation, the open-endness, the RPG elements, are unmatched to this day. It's a very immersive game, if you like cyber-punk.

Here is another tip: Often killing everything in your path is the absolute wrong way to go about it. This is a game where taking other methods into consideration is often very rewarding and, in some cases, necessary for survival :)

Kk thanks for the tip. Although I´ve played alot of RPGs, and I always tend to pick the good path. I always play a Paladin on Baldur´s Gate series and I´ve passed that game like 5 times already.
