Well Gamespot, Steam is running a sale on Deus Ex and the sequel. 2.50 each for today only. For a kid with limited income, worth the 5 bucks? What does it have to offer in the face of modern games?

Deus Ex 1 was a game far ahead of its time but then most landmark PC games are. If you can overlook its now dated animations and graphics, do buy.

Deus ex 1 was awesome I would play it again if I could stand the graphics sadly Crysis has corrupted me in that departement

According to fans, no. But as for the original question here, for 2.50 you'd be nuts not to buy the GOTY edition of this classic. There's great mods out for it, even graphical ones for those who can't live with the pixels. And it's a good game. Moddb.com even has a small news article for it in honor of it's 10th anniversary.

Just started playing the first one for the first time a few weeks ago. I'm enjoying it quite a bit, a graphics and ai update would make this a great game today.

Its ironic that I can't stand the ai and combat of alpha protocol but the much worse graphics and ai in deus ex just seems nostalgic. I guess I just have different standards for games released 10 years ago.
