When i heard that diablo 3's release was announced i had a sudden urge to play diablo 2 on my laptop (dell latitude d510). I installed the game and everything seemed fine, but when i tried to run the game it would crash before even starting. It gave me an error message which stated: "error 22: a critical error occured when initializing directdraw". I have looked on many forums for answers and followed many suggestions. One stated that i should press start, run and enter dxdiag and heck my directx version. I have since updated my directx to the latest version but i realized when i was in dxdiag that under display directdraw acceleration, direct3d acceleration, and AGP texture acceleration were all unavailable. also, i ran the diablo 2 video test and it said that there were no video types to choose from (normally there would be choice of directdraw, direct3d etc.). I have however had success running starcraft on the same computer.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
