I think one main reason I found Titan Quest boring was that I was doing all this grinding and getting all these items but for what? To advance the story? The story was boring. I'm pretty sure Diablo 2 has PVP. What's it like? What do you do in it? How do you start it? Do alot of people even play it still? Etc.
I never went online with 2, but I remember well getting my rear end handed to me online with Diablo. Someone would yell for help, and kill anyone that showed up to help him. This was way back when the game was new.
Diablo 2's pvp is stupid as hell.. It doesn't take much skill and is more gear/build dependent... If there is one thing you don't play Diablo 2 for, its pvp, becuase there are far better out there.

Guild Wars was greatly influenced by D2 (no question there), but Arena-net built GW by fleshing out and perfecting the idea of PvP in a game like D2 which has PvP mostly as an afterthought. I think Arena-net (founded by some ex-Blizzard people) saw the potential and popularity of D2's PvP and decided to make it a focus by fleshing it out.
PvP in the original Diablo was fun to screw around with because there was no warning when someone went hostile. Other than that, though, the PvP in both Diablo and Diablo 2 is pretty meh.
