Did anybody else suffer through a severe addiction to this game as I did? I was addicted to it like it was crack for 3 years of my life. I look back and now see 3 years of my life wasted.

give it a chance man, you only gavepeople15 minutes to answer, lol.

Anyhow, Its all about the number 4 for me. I bought D2 4 days after it was released and played it for 4 years. I was addicted in a sense, but I don't regret it, i loved it. 2000-2004 were my D2 years.

I had a nightly lottery for giving away all my rare and valuable (and legit) items I had accumulated over the years. It was one of the most popuilar threads on there (diabloii.net) at the time.

Like the poster above me, i also play Guild Wars quite a bit.

i played before it was LOD, then when the expansion came around I was in heaven. I quit when people started being overrun with Mephistoe Bots and I could barely scrounge up a SOJ whereas they were selling for gold because they were bored

Good to know I wasn't the only one =]

You guild wars players, add me, my in-game name is Viktor Erlandsson, we could do some pvp together or something.

Hello,my name is Mlazaro,i too used to be an Diablo2 addict.(gamers reply,"hello Mike").Its been 1 yr and a half since my last Diablo. Some days are harder than other, some days are easier than others.I just take it one day at a time.My family and friends are back, good to be seeing them again...I havnt missed a day of work in awhile, cause of Diablo, and i actually had a sunburn too the other day....I find myself sometimes reaching for the Diablo, shake, cold sweats,.but then i just look at the picture of my family...Im trying, but im not sure if i can never have a diablo again for the rest of my life,....just taking it day too day.

I played this game extremely obsessively for several years, I don't regret it though. Nothing beats finding some ultra rare item. I played hardcore mostly. Quit when my acc with a pair of rare legit 1.08 boots was hacked. Cheating is out of control now, and HC unplayable due to tppk

Yoshi, before you make your decision, think of the possible outcomes. You may find Diablo entertaining, and can control the inevitable addiction, or you may end up like one of our former selves. Think carefully!

Install both, LoD will include all of Diablo 2 plus that outstanding expansion, so you will effectrively still play all of D2

Guild Wars (despite being more skill based rather than item based) and upcoming Hellgate: London are what you should be looking at now.

Interestingly enough, both ArenaNet (Guild Wars) and Flagship Studios (Hellgate) are partiallyfounded bykey ex-Blizzard people.

I could never really play it since the whole community (im generalizing from what ive seen so dont light those torches) was about thier precious soj's and there really wasnt a single social person and all they wanted was to be ran through the whole game so they could make some super character that could kill uber diablo. Really though, i just thought the game was kind of repetitive from my point of view and it got boring after the first act.

I was addicted to this game for 1 month entill I got bored since Hell mode (Forgot others =P) was the same as the easiest mode (The start one difficult) just harder, lose exp when you die, and new mini boss.
