Unless stated otherwise, many expansions require their original game to install, run, and play. that's why it's call "expansion", not a sequel.

Just Woundering why u would need the CD's because it must be takeing some forum of data off them but what would that data bebazoozoo_ssPerhaps its loading some textures or sounds from the original game.
you know i have always wondered this. seeing as im a diablo fanatic. ive installed thsi game countless times and wondered what excatly they took off.. maybe they didnt take off anything but that was there primitive way to stop piracy? like making sure you have the first game and didnt download it off the internet? maybe....
