Recently started playing D2 LOD again in single player. I always thought this was the best. Battlenet has gone to the dogs anyway.
So I upgraded to the newest version on suggestions from others. The game sucks. Synergies are useless for a barbarian in single player. Also, as a barbarian, your best skill is reduced to the point of useless. You can only gamble for rare items. You dont see uniques or rares for a long, long time. The first set item I found was in act 3 and it was a level 2 item that could be found in the original D2 in act 1, level 1. The game has been totally redesigned for 100% online play and for trading items online.
Download 1.08 like you played it the first time if you are going to play single player again. Just my 2 cents.
