Still reading through it now. Looks like it pretty much changed the game. Still sorting through it to determine if it's for the better or worse.
Anyone going to revisit Sanctuary? Or you already past the point of no return?

Holy balls, those patch notes. They seriously did change.... everything. I will most definitely be trying it out. Probably not today, but if I can convince some of my old levelin buddies to try it out again, we might hit it up this weekend.
I have not played the game in probably...a year and a half or something.
I read through these notes and most of it sounds great. I am skeptical about a couple things though, and reading people's opinions on the forums makes it even more confusing. So many different opinions, many of which are certainly biased.
For me, I like what I see (though I still wish they had made more permanent stats/skills to provide more choice and direction), but the bind on account legendaries kinda bothers me. I think getting rid of the AH is enough. You don't need to throw out trading altogether. Which brings me to my next point. You can still trade rares and other items that are not legendary, but that seems pointless if legendaries are supposedly the best. BUT I then read from some people that they didn't do a good job with legendaries and rares are still much better.
It feels impossible to know the truth until I get my hands on it. I am excited but still cautious and nervous. And as good as this might be, and as good as Path of Exile is, I still feel like noon nails it on the head and evolves what Diablo II did so well.
Anyway...if anyone is going to play it soon, maybe we should try hopping into a game together? Maybe I will later today, or tomorrow. Not sure yet.
I played for about two hours today. I found one piece of gear that was actually better than what I had, but other yellows were definitely not close to upgrades.
They have buffed weapons in that you can't find 300DPS swords anymore. Also almost all gear has minimum of 250+ main stat and 250+ vit. If you gear up with nothing but the new 2.0 gear. You'll probably double your life. Or maybe my gear was just really zoned in on CC/CD/IAS :P
Is the game better now ? Is the loot system any good now ?
If so, I might give it another chance :)
The loot is a lot better now and they changed the difficulty modes like hell and inferno are now gone and they put in new modes that give you bonuses the higher the setting is. So you can get something like 200% exp and other bonuses the higher the setting is. They also re did a lot of class abilities as well.
holy crap. i might actually buy the game now after i hear some reviews from this update. thought i would never get to enjoy it
Well I played long enough to realize that I'm going to need to completely rethink my barbarian. They took away the fury for crits passive. So now I can't whirlwind surf. Gonna have to go back to generating fury with attacks. I'll invest the time for that this weekend probably.

Thanks for the info.
I guess it can't hurt to give it another try. I have the game lying around here anyway and it's not like I can sell it :P
New Skill Rune – Serrated Arrow
Increases Hatred generated to 6
Damage type changed from Physical to Fire
Rapid Fire
Increased base damage from 438% to 525% weapon damage
Vault
Skill Rune – Action Shot
Now shoots 4 arrows for 75% weapon damage, and all shots are guaranteed critical hits
Holy crap! they just made my demon hunter a killing machine! LOL

This patch is pretty much what D3 should've been since day 1, for some people they will like it while there will be people who think it's to late to save D3. Personally I love this patch since they fixed majority of the issues I had with the game (like loot DR).

I think the game mechanics itself were pretty solid, if that would've been bad this game would have been unfixable.
However, all the problems I had with this game had to do with their AO-DRM and RMAH. The loot system was crap, this can break an ARPG diablo-like game for me. It seemed to me like the intentionally made the loot system crap to promote the RMAH.
Another thing I didn't like was the lag, getting 120+ ping while playing singleplayer was not fun. This had to do with their AO-DRM.
They ruined a potentially great game by including those two things. So I'm glad to hear they at least fixed the loot :)
@the_bi99man: wasnt hard I have a working ww barb after looking tru the new passives and using paragon points in the first 20 min. There may be better builds no but I have tried all that have been offered on the forums and the one I made is working the best for me

I think the game plays plenty smooth now, plus they changed the hitboxes to better fit your character. Not only that, but the loot is definitely better (from what I have played so far) and the AH is gone (or will be soon).

What are you doing for Fury generation? The old build I used to use was entirely dependent on the Fury for Crits passive. I didn't have any fury-generating skills in my hotbar. Couldn't fight unless the crowd was big enough to WW surf. Hahaha. Shit was a blast.

Very good news indeed that they will be removing the auction house. I really want to check D3 out now, but I think I'll finish Path of Exile first :P

I got one sorta working. I use warcry with 50 fury generation, unforgiving passive, ground slam with 30 fury generation. It's definitely not WW surfing like pre-patch, but it's doable.
I'd be curious to see what Advid's build is as it seems like he has no issues keeping up the WW.
