45£-60€-60$ is the recommended price for it, the price that it will be available for years in most stores, that doesn't mean stores won't offer discounts for pre-orders (to gain attention and more sales) or offer it for a special price on random occasions.

Also, if you haven't noticed, developers/publishers don't care if a digital copy isn't retail, they'll both have the same price and this is the usual price for Blizzard games, it's been like that since forever (except WoW and expansions for their non MMO games).

It's $60 here stateside. Expensive for a pc title but Blizzard always charges more than usual. They're still charging $20 for Warcraft3 last time I looked. People will pay it unless they want to wait 4 or 5 years for a Diablo Battlechest or something like that.

It's a Blizzard game. If the game holds any interest for you, you know it's going to be top notch quality entertainment. It is worth $60 to me, and to msot people.

Now, I do think Blizz should be a little looser with the price drops as time goes by. Most other games starting out at $60 on PC can be found for $40 within 4 months in a Steam sale... not so for Blizzard games most of the time.

It is expensive no doubt. 60Euros = 80dollars more or less. So in a way its a ripoff and i understand people being upset for this.

It's because Aussies are filthy rich, they live off weekly salaries and pay flat rent on a weekly basis they could only do this if they were filthy rich and they are.

Why do people spend the extra cash getting a mercedes?

High quality makes it so you can demand a high price.

What does "administration" mean in this context? Is it what the UK calls bankruptcy?

Yep. Mostly. But instead of filing for bankruptcy, they file for administration which sometimes lets them be bought by another company.

no idea? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimum_wage_law Australia - As of July 1, 2011, The Federal minimum wage is $15.51 per hour or $589.30 per week (38 hours) USA - As of July 24, 2009, U.S. federal law requires a minimum wage of at least $7.25 per hour. I was exaggerating a little but the minimum wage in AUS is twice that of the USA . Also lets not forget AUD dollars are worth about $1.06 US dollars. I always knew AUS had a huge minimum wage I just forgot what it was

And you also forgot to mention that Australia is around twice as expensive as most other countries (including US). It all works out. We might have higher minimum wages but we have higher pricing on everything here.

It was mostly a response to this: "It's because Aussies are filthy rich, they live off weekly salaries and pay flat rent on a weekly basis they could only do this if they were filthy rich and they are." by the other poster. The world thinks we are all rich here.
