well they announced sc2 what a year and a half or 2 years ago? and that's still not out. and the d3 announcement hasn't even been out a year yet. don't expect anything this year for sure.
Blizzard likes to space out their releases (makes sense why) so i would probably say 2010, but they did say they have been working on for what like 2 or 3 years or something when they actually announced it (i remember them saying something like that). And with them now being teamed up with Activision i could see quicker released coming from Blizzard.
It kind of sucks because i have always known blizzard to be one slow freaking developer, but i can always wait because of the quality they make, so i really do hope that activision doesn't speed them up (i don't know if they have even ownership, but i would guess activision has more, which would mean they make the calls).
Blizzard have released a press statement saying the game will be released: Q1 of 2009. GREAT NEWS!
Sarcasm aside, this game will take a long time to make...just look at the gameplay videos and they still need to make more classes. Expect 2010 earliest, 2011 - 2012 most likely.
Release dates for SC2 and Diablo 3 will be worked around WoW expansion pack release dates so as not to clash, so probably SC2 this year, and Diablo 3 sadly pushed back to 2010. for a company that can just print money at the rate WoW allows, Blizzard release surprisingly few games. So many companies would love to have those sort of resources available to them, yet Blizzard don't seem to be doing much, while someone somewhere is making a huge amount of money from them.
