Diablo III release date theory

Very interesting. Obviously fake. The mathematical gibberish sure fools a lot of people... that don't realise this article means D3's release date was planned while developing Diablo 2, since all values are lifted from that game.

Sounds like a Dan Brown plot.

I havent read the article, but any sort of date speculation is absolutely stupid considering there isnt even a release date for Starcraft 2 which is atleast 1 or 2 years ahead in development time.

Starcaft 2 will come first, I think.

Someone posted this on the Diabloii.net forums last year after the announcement, and on page 3 or 4 of the thread the topic creator admitted it was fake and made fun of everyone for believing it. Every few weeks someone posts it somewhere. It even resurfaces on battle.net and diabloii.net pretty regularly. Its fake, game wont come out till 2010 or 2011 most likely.

I really want to play Diablo 3... I thought it would come our this year.

I'm pretty sure it will not be out this year, and next either. Maybe in late 2011, we will only know when the game is out though.

Has everyone forgotten the famous blizzard release dates. release date plus 4-6 months = actually release date. not one blizzard game didn't follow this rule.

Yeh because they decided the release date for D3 when they made D2.

Estimating a possible release date is not that difficult. Two best indicators are (1) Blizzard's past performance, and (2) their statements about how far along they are in the development process.

Time between Diablo 2's announcement and actual release = 2.75 years

Time between Warcraft 3's announcement and actual release = 3.2 years

Time between World of Warcraft's announcement and actual release = 3.2 years

Time between Starcraft 2's accouncement and actual release (if they hit their year-end goal) = 2.5 years

When Blizzard last updated us back in October, they said they had done hardly any work on the 2-4th acts. They also said that the 5th class was not in a playable state.

Based on the above, when do you think they'll release it?

The theory is really interesting, but it does seem fake.

It was a very well thought out plan but obviously fake even though wed all like to believe it could be true out of wanting to play!
