Did anyone get bored of WoW fast like me?

I really enjoyed WoW. I thought it was so much fun and had lots of stuff to explore. But around level 25, it was just taking too long to get anywhere. The game seems to be the most fun at 70. Well no way in hell was I going to keep trudging through level after level, quest after quest, to finally reach there after a few years. Did this happen to anyone else? You may say I am impatient, that may be true, but the fun factor just seemed to drop.

I was bored as hell until the 30s when you could actually go outside of your current region and actually explore with some chance of survivability, rather than just grinding on quests that take you to the neighbouring province.

Although I also played it casually, I'd assume the boredom factor would have settled in even quicker if I spent 8hr sessions on it from time to time like I do my other MMO.

It really helps a lot to just explore and collect waypoints for the Griffin Masters, and use those as your primary means of transportation.

Final Fantasy XI, as to which I've sunk over 7300 hours into it over the period of 3 years 2 months.

(and I'd have a damn hard time trying to recommend it to anyone, I've played it to the point where all I see are the problems with the game)

Well 8 million people arent getting bored. However you did miss out on pre-bc which was fun as heck but BC is great as well. You have a loads way to go to really experience what WoW is all about.

I got bored and stopped playing around level 20 which was great because that was about when my trial ended. I actually had like 4 more days but I completely stopped playing it.

You shouldn't really worry about getting to max level as fast as possible. Leveling up is the favourite part of the game for me. I stopped playing when I hitted level 60. Raids are not for everyone. I stopped playing after six months which isn't a long time for MMO. I played LOTRO for eight months. If you don't enjoy it, no reason to play. Maybe you should check out LOTRO, low levels are more fun with more interesting story. All quests are actually part of a bigger story.

He could be onto something...I actually played wow nonstop for about a year and raided up to SSC and TK for those who know what those stand for. However I picked up LOTRO and got bored in 2 days, never touching the thing again. It might be right up your alley.

 I miss pre-bc raiding. I also miss the old pvp rank system and 8hour AV games  . Ok time to finish eating this pizza.

Topic title: Yep.

It's kinda funny, I'd expect me, of all people, to be able to resist this, but strangely enough, everytime I read some in depth story about a WoW session, I get this picture in my head. And I go "oooooh, WoW is actually still cool, I wanna play it again! Gleeeee!".
Now I've given in to that "desire" a few times, and trust me, whatever you think WoW is like: It's not.

Okay, WoW CAN be fun, it can. But the fun never comes from the game itself, it comes from the people you play with, and seriously, the most fun I ever had with WoW was when me and my best mated went to each houses a few times, to play WoW and drink beer.
Just those few evenings with the 2 of us and the beer was way more fun then those other countless hours I've spent on WoW.
What I'm trying to say is:
A) If you're taking time to socialize in WoW, you'd be spending it better socialing in real **ing life.
B) the game itself sucks monkey nuts, and you know it.

Truthfully, I've been having "ze temptations" again for a few weeks now, I even went so far as to inserting the disks, in an attempt to install it, so that, if I really wanted to play, I could fire it up immediatly. My harddisk space is what stopped me though, as I recall, the WoW folder gets huge with the expansion and patches, and it turned out I only had 11GB left and I wanted to have to free space for dling left. :P
I really need to uninstall some games and delete some images. :)

Mod NOTE: Please censor your words correctly as per the Terms of Use you have to *** out the first parts of a foul word not the end parts. Thank you :)

Yeah, I think most people of normal temperament get bored of WoW before too long. It probably hooks a lot of people who are the addictive sort, but for most of us, it gets boring after 2-3 months. I've played twice now, both 2-3 month sessions. It's never enough to actually get anywhere, and I just can't commit more time to it. Usually by the time I start making friends and guild associations, it's been 2-3 months, and I'm bored and quit. It's just not the kind of game you can play if you are not addicted to it. All of its gameplay revolves around the massive time commitment. Even if you did make it to the 70s, your guild or other people you PUG with will expect you to put in marathon 4-hour raid sessions. There's no, "Hey. This raid is going slow. I'm bored. I'm gonna quit out." That just hacks everyone off. That's what sucks about it though. 2-3 months and 100-200 hours would be enough to finish most games, but that just barely gets your foot in the door with WoW, and you really can't enjoy the game and make friends on-line without putting in more and more time. You don't have time for anything, not hobbies or sports or socializing, let alone other games. It's just not worth it.

It happened to me too. I got it, it was fun, I leveled somewhere around lvl20 and it got boring.

Then two years later I tried it again and it hooked faster than coke.

So new content is bad? You can always play on the test realms for the lastest sets so I think having to be a beta tester is false unless I'm wrong and your talking about being a BC beta tester. Maybe you was to caught up in the rewards rather then the fun experience of PVP maybe idk. Sounds as if you were ona RP realm.

By the looks of this it's not just me. Even though it seemed like everyone but me couldn't resist it. It was sucking the life out of me.

It bored me to a stage where the montly fees were just not worth it anymore. I would play it every now and then if i did not have to pay for it.

This is not a whine against game fees, just where i was at with it.

No, I have just had an immensely enjoyable experience of the game, I can't find many faults with it, so I recommend it when the subject comes up.

I got to a level 28 hunter in WoW, but then my game glitched or something, because I couldn't use the chat function, couldn't see what others were saying either. I went through every bloody chat filter and option in the game, and nothing fixed it. My game card ended on the same day, and I was too frustrated to bother renewing it. The game is good, but I prefer Eastern MMOs such as FFXI. Besides, I was getting bored of the 500 quests I was doing at the same time in Duskwood.

you know what.....I went through the same thing, and I quit for about 6 months.....but now I'm LOVING it all over again. I slowly moved my way up to 52 and my main goal is to become lvl 70.....lately I've been crazy questing and got 4 lvls in like 2 days :) (I was off for work that's why I had so much time, unfortunately I go back today :P)
