I just moved all my hardware from one tower to another. I put it all back together and plug everything in. When I turn on the PSU, the motherboard LED light turns on (green). I hit the power switch at the front of the computer, but to my surprise, nothing happens. Ive put together approximately 4 PCs before, so I know I have assembled everything correctly.

So I unplug the cable, wait for the LED to turn off, and then plug it back in again. Im quite sure that when you give power to your PSU (not turn the computer on, but just flip the PSU switch to on), the fans on the PSU rotate dont they? Or at least something to indicate that the PSU is receiving power. Well, my PSU does not do anything. I put my ear close to the PSU and I can hear a barely audible noise.

I recently moved, and my tower was damaged, so maybe my PSU was damaged too?

Any ideas?

Buy a Wattage tester at your local car parts store, should be around $10.

Well, its possible that something got damaged in the switch but ......."I've put together 4 PCs before so I know I have assembled everything correctly".....maybe thats the issue.

I've built well over 400 PCs before and I STILL miss something every now and again. Go back and check every last thing. Maybe you hooked up the power switch to the worng jumper...thats an easy one to slip up on. Never just assume its right until its been double checked...triple checked....and then checked once more.

Of course. I would never ask without double checking. But I have already. Many times over. Im going to see if I can get my hands on a PSU from another computer, do a little switch and see what happens.
