It would appear so if you are sure you haven't given out your login credentials to any friends. Get a support ticket from Steam ASAP before anything potentially bad happens to your account.

It may be anywhere from a couple days to over a week, depends on what sort of mood you catch Steam support in.

My co-worker lost his Steam account a while back and he got it back within 24 hours. He filled out the form on the Steam website and sent in proof of owning the games registered on the account in the evening after work, and the afternoon the day after they sent him an email with a link and instructions on how to get the account back. He's happy, of course. :) TC, when you get a moment, there's a link in my sig you might want to click on. ;)

Most likely, but don't freak out. Mine got hacked and I got it back within 12 hours. Steam support is quick and efficient.

how hard is it to change emails on steam.... Answer: It's not. and it's probably the 2nd thing the hacker did after changing his password.

Here's the thing, you can't, it's impossible, not easy or hard. You link an email account and after that if you want to change it again it sends a confirmation email, only if you log in on your email account and press the confirmation link it'll let you change the email address.

IMO it's shouldn't even let you start your games until you take care of this step...it saves a lot of users that press dubious links the trouble of waiting for their account to be resolved by Steam or the possibility of getting a VAC ban.

Actually, when I was trying to change my e-mail for the whole steam support thing, I added a new email, confirmed it on the email that I added, and confirmed it with the email that I entered. (and I didnt hack anyones account, I was trying to get support for a game with my brothers steam account, to which hes abandoned.)

If it was abandoned then he didn't use it for a while and also maybe he never confirmed the email at the time it was released (it's a relatively recent feature), after you confirm your email address you can't change it untill you confirm that you want to change it by clicking the link that you receive from Valve in an email.
