Well it sure did for me, I haven't played in 2 years, it was a bit of a shame that I lost all my high level god characters but starting out fresh was wonderfull, I now have a level 18 druid named Kelcok and I'm in act 2 havin a blast, just wanted to hear your comments on what you think of this.
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE D1 D2 and I will love D3. But I've played the HELL out of D2, I've stoped and restarted a lot. A LOT like 5-7 times. I cant see myself ever playing D2 again.
I have to admit that I'm seriously considering it. Especially when you listen/watch all the game analysts who figure that D3 is probably at least another 1.5 to 2 years away.
I actually started played a couple of months ago, after building a Bowazon and a Hammerdin both lvl 92 i kinda got bored again, but im feeling like building a Whirlwinder ^^.
I played the hell out of it back in the day (urgh, unintentional pun :(), so I really don't have any urge to play that game ever again. I remember it being extremely addictive, but I don't actually remember enjoying the game - sort of like WoW, really.

I understand you can download Blizzard games off of their website now as long as you have your CD key. You can then play them from your hard drive, similarly to how Steam works.
How to do that or even that you can do that is not obvious from their site. I only know about it because someone made a thread about it here recently. Here is the link:
Yep, the announcement actually convinced me to finally go out and re-buy the game again, since I lost my CD keys from last time. It's been about 4 years since I last played, and I'm pretty much addicted again. It's going to be hard starting all over again though.

I was actually just getting into it and it inspired me to stop. (I'm a big grapichs whore.) I don't know any builds and Battle.net's 1990 style network is hard to use and annoying compared to a PSP GAME! that had it's own online network. I'm going wait for Blizzard's new flow of classic with the step up to 3D and using the today's standards Battle.net 2.0
I was a huge fan of the series back in the day, so I threw Diablo 2 in and played for about 20 minutes. It has not held up over the years. After playing my XBox360 and PS3, I just can't play this on my HDTV which my computer is hooked up to. I know it looked good when it came out, but wow, it looks bad now.
I bought the game for the third time yesterday (lost the previous 2) and I am enjoying it A LOT. Like I used to. So yeah, Diablo III inspired me to play again :P.

Yeah, I've been considering it as well. I haven't played the game in about 5 years, but it would be fun to play again. 1-2 years is a long time to wait for D3.
On another note, I wonder what the system requirements will be for D3.

Same here...3rd time purchase also but I am glad I did it...Sadly I have SO many games to play that is just another game on my list.
I've never stopped playing D2. I quit EQ1 and EQ2, all multiplayer games I've bought, PS2 games, and everything else. When I need a lift I always fire up D2 single player for some fun. I always get a new experince from that game. Hellgate London was supposed to be the killer of D2...it wasn't.
I'm thinkin about playin it again. But I would probably not, since I'm playing WoW right now. I don't want to divide my self in palying both games at the same time. Coz I might lose interest w/ either of the two.
Diablo 2 makes my eyes bleed, one of the main reasons I couldn't get into it. Each character is made up of about 30 or so colored squares that jiggle around, as a poor attempt to make the character blob look like human movement. I'm like, this...is...baaad! The gamplay and sound wasn't stimulating to me either. Lets hope the 3 iteration is better by a long shot.
Yeah I'm probably going to start playing it again... all my characters were kicked off the ladder though... stupid patch that doesn't even allow me to play the game without the disk when it is supposed to. :x
