I did. I'm having second thoughts about it so I thought I'd get the general concesus. Oh and if you like, include money spent on TV and money spent on Warranty. Any general opinions on extended warranties would be great too. Me, It was $1350 for TV and $350 for Warranty.

Got it on mine... TV was $1000 and the warranty was $200. It was hard for me to afford the TV so I got the warranty cuz I won't have the money to buy another one anytime soon so I wanted the security. That's my reason at least. :)

At the price it's not worth it, but you got it already so :? People on avs say if a TV doesn't fail in the first year (mfr. warranty) there's a good chance it won't until the extended warranty is already expired. You're better off putting that money away and if the tv screws up, buying a new budget TV since it will most likely be even better than the TV you had before.

a rear projection warranty is usually always a good buy since it usually includes the cost of the first replacement lamp. I always buy an extended warranty for any set that is too large to move easily. Do you really want to have to take a 50 inch display to a repair shop? Far better to have an in-home service plan and that saves you the cost of the diagnosis call-out charge as well if they do that.

I believe it was $450 for a 4 year warrenty, TV was $2199. At the time i bought it i thought it was a good idea to purchase a warrenty incase anything happened ... so far nothing has.

This was one of the reasons why I prefered a CRT HDTV set at a default resolution of 1080i. CRT technology has been proven in the past to be a long-lasting, cheap, with very little problems. The warranty was 1 year for the electronics and 3 years for the CRT tube. Some of the LCD and DLP projectors have light bulbs you have to replace every so often that can cost around $200. The technology is also fairly new so who knows what the lifespan of the products will be. Does DLP or LCD projection look better? Sure they do, but not enough to pay double the price in my opinion. You can get a 57" Hitatchi widesecreen for around $1200, I have had no problems for 2 years.

YES! Best Buy's warranty covers everything so I'll just break my HDTV before my extended warranty expires and then get a better HDTV replacement with my HDTV i already have as a down payment towards my replacement :P lol.cause we all know a 3 year old HDTV isn't gonna still be made right now. although i do LOVE my HDTV, i still think it's the best out of all my friends and they do to, so I'm torn if i really wanna go with my initial plan for buying the extended warranty

What exactly would you do to 'Make" it broke to get a replacement?

you know i haven't figured that out yet. but best buy doesn't sell the tv anymore since it's like 3 years old, so i know i'd get a new one. i'm pretty sure it covers like everything that could possibily happen
