Difference Between Wireless N and Wireless G

I have currently upgraded to Roadrunner Turbo, I get nearly 7mbps downloading, and a little over 0.5mbps uploading when I run the speed test now...I have had my Linksys Wireless WRT54GS Wireless router for a while now, and because I live in a pretty small apartment I haven't found the need to go with a router with more range. I am worried that because I'm still using the g network I might not be taking full advantage of bandwidth speed. Is it worth it to upgrade to a wireless N router if I have no need for its range, but want higher speeds?

wirless speed depends on your broadband speed and where your router(antenna) is at and if it has to send the signal thu objects. also if you have a 2.4ghz wireless telephone. firedrakes

Yeah I upped my broadband speed, so it doesn't really matter whether my router uses a g network or an n network?

As mentioned above, wireless G has a max transfer speed of 54mbps, which is several times greater than your 7mbps Internet connection - a limit your service provider sets and no router is going to exceed. Wireless N will only benefit you if you have several computers and want to increase the speed of file transfers between them.
