How did this game go unnoticed? Perhaps it is due to it essentially being a remastered version of Divinity II: Ego Draconis with the inclusion of its espansion. The original Divinity II: Ego Draconis had potential but lacked a few layers of polish. I played the game only a short while before losing interest.

The Dragon Knight Saga, however, is REALLY DAMN GOOD! I don't mean, "good for a game that isn't Skyrim," or "good for a game that didn't get reviewed on Gamespot." I mean it's one of the five best games I have played in 10 years. It is balanced well, has superb game-play twists and trappings to keep it interesting, This "remastering" is sincere. A complete balance overhaul, several additions and changes in quests, locations, items, pacing, and more amalgamate a completely different and much better game than Ego Draconis.

I like this game better than Oblivion, The Witcher, or Dragon Age I and 2. It has an awesome factor on par with a game like Demon's Souls (even though it has little in common with it). If you own a reasonable PC and like open-world action RPGs (with some tactical elements), you need to buy this game. It's ~100 hours of incredible.

I saw it on the steam sale, but lack of hype on these forums and scarce reviews kept me away

I feel lamed out because I bought Ego Draconis on sale, but never finished that one either.. so now I kind of want to see the improvements in DKS, but I don't want to shell out any cash for it. I'm forced to wait for a decent sale so I can justify the money on it, but I am interested in the game :D

Indeed, I loved the game. I still have to play the expansion part though.

I'm in the midst of playing it now, and though it has a few rough edges, I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Just got to be able to take dragon form and it really has picked up since. Great game!

Yes, it was awsome, i only played divinity II: Ego Draconis, but it had the best beginning to any video game in the last 10 years imo, fell apart after you become a dragon imo. Looks like ill get the DKS then.

I agree, I loved Divinity 2, I only played the updated version, I bought it on release day and kept waiting for some threads about it but nothing. I even made a few of my own that got very few responses, sadly this game seems to be unnoticed.

I have tons of other games to finish right now (since I just recently acquired a true gaming PC), and I will likely pick this up after I'm finished with what I have now. Or, if there is a big sale on it before then.

I think it was average, far away from the masterpiece that is Divine Divinity.

I've wanted to buy it for a while, but because I have a bunch of other games to play, I'm going to wait until it's cheaper than $20.

Lol of course not, because everyone here seems to be stuck in the past on 10 year old games, that they hold as the holy grail, and hate all the new games released and compare them to these old ass relics, I just dont get it. I think it must the the average age of the pc posters here that everyone seems to be stuck in the same era

I wish I would have "hyped" this game over the weekend when it was on sale on Steam for $20, but I had to play it long enough to be sure. Be certain to grab this gem during the next sale. If money is less of an issue, get it for $40 now -- its value far exceeds even that price. Keep in mind, however, the Steam summer sale is just around the corner....

My opinion has nothing to do with that. Play both games and you'll see the big difference in character development, exploration and interactivity with NPCs/gameworld.

You cant like... have an opinion man, because it automatically makes you elitist or stuck in the past. I played the original divinity 2, didnt really like the clumsy combat and the odd difficulty spikes. for the middle part of the game I was more or less abusing the system rather than playing the way the game seems to want you to play it judging by the abilities. The loot, character progression and quests were pretty decent though. I dont think it was better than Risen or Drakensang.

Or...maybe some of them were actually better games. I didn't play pc games in 2000, but I think Deus Ex is better than most games being released; I played Deus Ex for the first time last year.

I have Divinity 2: TDKS retail version with discs that I purchased from abroad. I haven't played it yet. Is it as good as Risen, or even better?

I didn't enjoy it as much as Risen, but it's still a fun game. There are some fun platforming levels in tombs. What I liked about Divinity 2 most is that it didn't take itself too seriously. Sure, you are supposed to save the world, but a lot of the dialog makes it lighthearted.

I wanted to get it so bad but alas I was low on funds. Hopefully it will be up on sale again on the Summer Deals, if there's even one.

This is all all time favourite RPG experience. But still it has some issues and thats just because its not a high budget title.

Thanks for sharing your experience tc! Few of my friends own Ego Draconis and its been on my list since the end of last year but with so many other games I forgot about it. Hopefully it will come up in the Summer Sale for a decent price.

Just started but so far i don't like it much. Stuck in a town stopped none stop while being handed 10000 quests you don't know where anything is. They don't give you a chance to get used to game. I just entered a door to help guy for quest and he sets place on fire and say quickly follow or something like that and right off on fire and can't get out while 3-4 guys beating on me and die in like 3 secs.

Thats really badly done. Anyway paid 20 for this junk i'll give it more of a chance hopefully it gets better.

Loved the humor in that game, had me laughing hard at times (especially with those medieval power rangers, boy did I laugh when they made an entrance). Might actually play it again, stopped halfway through because of Witcher 2, I think.

I enjoyed the demo for it aside from the irritations of not being able to go beyond tier 2 skills, and it's something I definitely plan to pick up someday.

Its predecessor Divine Divinity is fantastic also, though even purchased from GOG it required using an older config file and setting it up with RunFirst. I want to play DD before I play D2DKS, but I love the humorous tone of the series and the open-ended gameplay and quests.

I can't stop playing it. It's easily one of my top 10 RPGs. And surprisingly it has a good amount of humor, a very well thought out game. I love it.
