I was thinking about getting a new gaming computerand my budgets $1000-1500. If i got a computer from IBuyPower they would make it for me but after newegging the parts i realized i could build it for half as much. So is it hard to build your own computer and is there a book, magazine website or something to show me how to do it. The most techincal thing I've done for computers is put in a new graphics card. Thanks in advance.

i'ts not hard to build a new pc, just take a look in your old one, and you'll already have a pretty good idea on how to put the stuff in, it's really only about placing them, and putting in the screws. Don't be afraid to break anything, you'll have to be pretty darn unlucky for ANYTHING to break, i pushed so hard on my motherboard cause of a tab behind it i had to remove, and nothing happened :)

Building them is pretty easy, your first build might be a bit intimidating but after that it's loads od fun and you can get rigs built that no normal manufacturer will build for you.

Yes, you'll probably be surprised at how easy it turns out to be. Not to mention, you have the technical support of a thousand rabid gamespotters behind you... :D

It takes me about 2 hours to do the hardware, and varying time to software it up. Your first will take you longer. Newegg is the way to go in my mind. Wargame different configs of PC's first. Read all the specs and documentation on mfg websites linked at newegg under that respective product. If you don't know what something is, read about it in several places on the net. You'll get the hang of it. Less than $800 out of pocket will get you a kick-butt gaming rig. I just built this one for a co-worker on Friday.

e4300 has gone up in price since then though. Good little over clocker. Does the job great. Why would you need any more than that?

Theres a few videos on youtube that can give you an idea on how to build one but theres no really hard part about building a computer. Also theres a few guides online but im to lazy to find them.
