Not only that, but if i did use a 6-pin to 4-pin converter with two molex connectors would i get full power off the card, and would it be safe?

What do you mean? With the 6 to 4 pin converters? I want to know whether its really worth it, i've got a 650watt psu from CiT with dual 12 v rails, so im guessing i should be okay.. The thing is, i dont want to have to buy a 5770, because of the fact it only uses 1 6pin connection, i want a card which will last in terms of performance and value for money..As long as you can plug it in, it should work as far as I know. I expect it depends on your PSU.

Is this what you're referring to?
then yes. One came with my 460. Sorry, I misunderstood your question at first. English is'nt my native language.
No problem, and yes thats what im talking about ^^. Its annoying it needs 2 molex's though, as i dont think i even have 1 free at the moment, so im not sure what to do, firstly i might remove my dvd/r drive to free up a molex, but im not sure where im gna find another 1 lol. Thanks for your help, SeanIs this what you're referring to?

Sorry but i have one more question regarding molex connectors. Would it be safe to use a molex splitter like this onehttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Power-Splitter-Cable-Molex-Lead/dp/B003OSNWM8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1282922471&sr=1-4in order to power my case fan and a graphics card like the gtx 460 (along with 1 6-pin power connector)?

Thanks for your help, Sean If you don't have 2 free molex connectors I would be scared that the PSU is lacking. Can you tell us what exact PSU you have. Molex to PCIe will work, if the PSU can push enough power.[QUOTE="Filthybastrd"]

Are the reviews you have seen written by reputable sites, or just random people who have just been lucky enough not to have any issues?
I cannot say that the PSU is junk, but I also cannot find even the website for the manufacturer, which is usually a bad sign.
I will not say it won't work, or is a bad idea. But if it were me, I would look into buying a better quality PSU. But that's just me, I am anal about PSU's.
Does the sticker on the side say anything like "max combined wattage" for the 12v rails? Cause just because it has 2 x 12v rails, does not mean the PSU can max out both rails, it just means each rail can support than much juice.
650W should be plenty for one GTX460 but there's always the issue of quality. Do you have tons of stuff hooked up or does it just not have that many connectors?
Min req is 450W.
Just remember "watts don't mean squat". It is the amps on the 12v rails(s) that are the most important thing to look at in PSU's.650W should be plenty for one GTX460 but there's always the issue of quality. Do you have tons of stuff hooked up or does it just not have that many connectors?

Thanks for helping, hopefully this will give you more in-depth information on the psuhttp://www.aone.co.uk/ProdInfo.ASP?ProductID=2460. I really lack knowledge when in comes to psu's, but as its so cheap i should probably be careful..having said that my mate bought a very cheap 750watt psu and his has been fine ever since he bought it.. Cheers, Sean
