do games really run slower on the 64bit os or is it really a myth

hey guysi just googled around a bit and found people having many problems with 64 bit vista,i have one and i haven't had many problems(the truth is i have not installed many programs and games yet).is it true that 32-bit games run slower on 64bit vista than the 32 bit vista

Wow, that's a new one. Like most of the stupid rumors surrounding Vista: no, it isn't true.

Vista 64-bit has a 32-bit subsystem that allows it to properly run 32-bit applications.

Unless someone installs 64bit with only 2GB ram, or something like that, which im sure gamespotters wont do.

it runs the same here on vista 64, it should run faster really if the game has been coded for 64-bit operation too.

Games run faster on a x64 platform. Now, of course such games fully take advantage of 4 or more gigabytes of RAM but even then, a system equipped with 3 GB RAM or less may experience an increase in gaming performance, however slightly which is why x64 OS target principally systems with several GB of RAM.

Normally though, games scarcely take entire advantage of 3 or so gigabytes. Furthermore, x64 also implies higher rate of memory usage in addition to higher memory capacity allowance.
