I've been having my PC for quite sme time now, about 7 years. I have an athlon xp 1600, GeForce FX 5200, 1 gig of ddr sram memory, and 40 gig harddrive. I knw by today's standard's that's pretty low end, but I ve managed t run doom 3, prey, tomb raider anniversary and legends, and also half life 2 and psychonauts, all at excellent frame rates. Low res but with all the bells and whistles turned on! Is this a miracle, or just good computer upkeeping?

Or maybe you're one of those guys that call 15 fps "very playable".

Definitely a Miracle. You win +1 Internet. There has to be some holy intervention that allowed that.

Acrually, 20 to 25 fps is pretty good fr me, but fr Doom 3 and half life 2 it's full speed with all the pretty stuff up, prey suffers from some lags here and there psychonauts runs smooth as butter.

No way i have almost those exact specs (had to upgrade mine to the fx5200 and 1 gig ram though, use to be a random 64gb graphics card and 512 mb). Mines 8 years old and counting haha.

There's no such things as "miricles" in computer hardware. If you think that 12 fps at 640x480 is smooth, then good for you.
