You will be able to play it, but you will be better off with a dual core.

I have one. It isn't that great for crysis. It will certainly play it, but for a few bucks more you could get way more bang for your buck.

You may want to try a ATI 3850 if you don't want to shell out the cash for a 8800gt. Haven't looked at the benchmarks, but I bet it is a better deal than a 8600gt.

Newegg sells them for 179. I don't know if they will ship to canada. Can you find a different store?

you should check to see if you have the right interface on your motherboard (pci express) and a power supply with enough power and the right leads. I would also at least take a brief look at a few benchmarks for the card. It looks good from the specs, but do it anyway just to make sure you are getting what you want.

You also need to make sure it has whatever leads the video card requires. Many pcie cards need a 6 pin power connector. Check up on how many watts the card requires. If it is a high quality PSU you might be able to fudge it, but your milage may vary.

I don't know if they make adapters. You would be really pushing your luck with one though. Now that I know your psu is a little older, I am hesitant to recommend a medium-high end card. The 8600gt is really not a good card for the money though. I don't really follow ATI's product line, but they might have a mid range card that is more suitable.
