Do I Need To Upgrade?

My computer stats are in my sig. Do I need to update yet? I want to update when the next "Q6600" and "8800GTX" comes out. Because as far as i'm aware, i heard those lasted a good 3 years or some ****. And do you think i'd be able to get 600-700$ for this computer if i were to sell it on craiglist for example ?

Whether or not you have to upgrade is really your decision, if you are having problems doing what you usually do, then upgrade otherwise save some money and keep what you got.

It's just that i'm playing at 1680 x 1050, and i want to upgrade to 1920 x 1080, and i know that my fps will drop significantly then. RedxSniper

Can you show me how to build a computer that's faster than his for less than $600? Operating system included?

Not possible. You'd get 60% of a good PC for that price.

I agree that the TC doesn't need to upgrade or build anything new right now. His rig is still strong.

Nobody could have known how well the Q6600 and 8800GTX would hold up over the long haul back when they came out. It's almost impossible to predict which hardware will do the same.

when it comes down to it get your self a new gpu and call it a day if you want to game a 1920x1200
