Do i really need all these processes?

Well, that IS a lot of processes. First thing I would do is get rid of AVG. lol. It's garbage. Get Avast, it's way better. 2nd, you should go into msconfig and disable any TSRs you don't need. After that, it's specifically dependent on what "you" want or need running or not. My system has 29 processes going at boot up. I like to run a lean machine. If you can get it down to anywhere between 29 and 36 processes, you'd already be doing better. Just my 2 cents worth, hope it helped a bit.

If you dont know what the processes are then just type them into google and it will tell you...

You can get an idea by looking at the description, also when you go into msconfig you can hit a box that says "hide all ms services" so you don't disable anything important. Visit tweakhounds vista guide and you can see what services you can disable also what Windows features to disable from the control panel.

Well its your fault for having all them programs on startup. To see what programs are on startup click start and then run and type 'msconfig' then select startup. To avoud problems liek this in the future as soon as you install a program do that and uncheck what you just installed as most programs you install automatically start at startup unless you tell them otherwise.
