I am talking about an average game here, not MGS. If Activision treatens to drop making games for the PS3, does that mean that the PC is outselling it? Or is it just easier to make a crappy PC port, rather than spend time and resources developing it on the PS3? This is really bothering me, if someone has an oppinion pls say.

It costs a lot more to make a PS3 game than a PC game. PC's don't require a license. And Infinity Ward will never dump the PC, considering it's where Call of Duty was born.

Considering that the Activisions parent company makes the majority of its money on PC, Id say yes.

PCs don't require royalty fees, since activision is with blizzard and wow generates mega squillions of dollars per second I don't think they'll stop making PC games.

For games that are on PS3 and PC I would say that the PS3 copies usually sell more, but not always. That doesn't mean the PC copy has horrible sales, just usually less. However the PC copy may make more profit because it costs a lot less to develop a game on the PC than on the PS3. No royalty fees on the PC, and it takes less time to code which means less money spent on coders.

Activision is just stating that their rate of return for one PS3 game isn't as profitable as the same game for the PC, and will never be, because Sony no doubt imposes some hefty fees for opening up their hardware architecture to developers so they can code games.

Game quality would suffer if the architecture wasn't revealed.

Actually if you count Digital Downloads, Hard Copy, and online gaming prices Pc actually sells more than the xbox 360 even, In fact if you factor in all the digital downloads and online subscriptions and hard copy of games, the PC industry brought in 10 billion last year.
