ive seen battlefiel 2 for 19.99 at the store and thinking about getting it....but since its a little bit old, do people even play it still???? and do u have to download gamespy arcade to play online? and if people are playing it still, is it good???? are there any rooms at max where the fun doesnt end??? ive played the xbox 360 version and i heard the pc one was 100 times better and more people up to 64 right??? are there even rooms that full?
the 360 version seems horrible compared to the pc. yes the max ppl is 64, lots of ppl still play, i think. no u dont have to have gamespy arcade. when i used to play there used to be alot of lagg, perhaps not anymore tho, because of patches...o yeah the patches r surpose to be huge too. its a great game tho.2142 is also really fun ( i acutally have 2142,not battlefield2)
The PC version, as far as I know, is far superior to modern combat. I've played some great games in battlefield 2, and you will have no problem finding a game. I haven't experienced any of said lag, and online play is fast and smooth. 64 players maximum, yes. There are tons of people still playing, it is one of the most popular games online.
lets just say that all console Battlefields are watered-down junk, and that Battlefield 2 and 2142 are the most popular online "war simulators."Â I remember once there were over 1 million people logged onto BF2 at once.
tons of people still play it. I mean I just bought it now that I have a pc that can run it (a laptop that runs it at max setting at 90 fps!). Its great fun and much better than the 360 version. also I got the expansion packs yesterday and they're great fun.

my old one had a geforce 5600 which was just below the min requirements. so when i installed the demo for the first time and it didnt run I almost cried.Â
Yes Battlefield 2 is still played, and you will always be able to find a full server. That includes servers that don't have English as the 1st language.
I bought the $20 b2 2 months ago, and i would suggest you dont get it. you will be owned when you play online, since your weps are unlocked. the game is overrated anyway, i am sure there are a lot of $20 PFSÂ games way better than b2, like episode 1, prey, and graw

You just reminded me that I need to reinstall this game, I played over 150 hours in about a month, then stopped playing, now I want to play again. Its much better than bf2142 and harder.

If you get owned completely then you are a bad FPS player - if you've played anything with the WASD-mouse config then you will have a decent fighting chance - CS or TF experience would help too, although it's not as twitch-based

The 360 vrsion was not meant to contend with Battlefield 2, its just an old port of an Xbox game. Bad Company should give the PC version a run for its money though.Â

Wtf. This is very different from GRAW, HL2: Ep1, and Prey. This isn't just osme FPS game you know like Prey but it's more like a War Simulation with tanks, fighters, jeeps, etc. So I'm pretty sure it's very different. I don't know if it's in BF2 also but there are also servers with rank restriction. It's simply a level restriction on the server. Ex:if you past Master Gunnery Sargeant you can't go in the server anymore. If there isn't a server like this just play at any server, doesn't really matter how good the weapons are if you know how to use it(pretty much headshots, headshots, and more headshots on the enemy) then you will get your unlocks in no time. Just keep in mind if you want to get more unlocks you should get the booster packs and Special Force; they give you unlocks.
They should DEFINITELY put Bad Company on the PC version. Not only finiacially-wise but also it can build up the reputation of the BF series(seeing how little they made from BF2142 and its booster pack).

agreed - the other day I was playing and I jumped in chopper and some other guy got in as pilot (i suck at flying) and said he wouldnt fly unless he was with his friend. what a dick. I didn't get out and after 20 minutes of arguing he finally took off and I tore **** up.

 I agree with the teamkilling part. On some server you cant even get near vehicles because some team-mates will kill you to get it. However I think there is enough variety to appeal to almost everyone: 24/7 one map server, infantry servers, big-medium-small maps server, air maps server, urban combat servers.

you have to run it as an admin, I think its just about right clicking on the icon, and going to properties.... not sure though, but it doesnt seem to hard.
