I was thinking about getting a guide for Fallout 3 and Oblivion. But what do they offer that I can't just find online?

What do you think? Are game guides a waste of money?

Exactly! What extra content do they offer that you can't get online? None.

The only thing a game guide is good for is when you don't have access to internet or want a physical copy to read and take with you.

With broadband in almost every home, game guides have become meaningless.

lol no, i dont buy them, or even use them

half the fun of a game is playing it without someone holding your hand till the end of the game, and thats exactly what a guide does.

not to sound noble or anything... but it really takes alot of the fun out.. and they DO NOT make you a better gamer or increase your skill.

it just literally defeats part of the purpose of the game to me in the first place.... EXPLORING A WORLD SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT/ OR COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN YOUR OWN.

Okay, thanks for the responses, I was just wondering if I was missing out on some extra game info via a game guide.
