Do you find F.E.A.R's weapons too weak for some reason?

I think the Shotgun has a nice feel to it, but some of the other guns, I agree.

I havn't played MP, but in SP most of the guns feel decent. Part of the reason may be the way the AI reacts to the shots. If the players don't jerk back like in single player, I imagine a lot of those weapons might feel weak.

Another game I thought had some weak weapons was Half-Life 2. Don't get me wrong, I loved that game; the pistol and the sub machinegun feel like... crap. I know the pistol is the weakest gun, but come on! It's a pistol. It should sound a lot more powerful. The pistol in the game sounds like a pop-gun, and the sub machinegun ain't a whole lot better. I can overlook the pistol, but you use the SMG way to much to have it sound so weak and.... unsatisfying.

Anyway, thats my two cents.

The reason F.E.A.R.'s weapons feel so weak in multiplayer is because exploitation of game mechanics is very easy, and a common practice. All you have to do is stay alive long enough to gather a collection of medkits. You can carry up to 10 of these babies for use at any time, including the middle of a firefight. Time your keypresses correctly, and you can stay alive about three times longer than normal. Watch closely when you go toe-to-toe with other players and you'll see a "shockwave" effect emanating from their avatars every time they pop a medpack. For the record, this bullsh** is exactly the reason I stopped playing.

Too weak? Are you serious? My guess is you are not playing against any of the good players or your aim needs some work. There are vets of this game that I play with all the time that can drop you as fast as they see you. I don't know how much faster or more powerful you want them to be. You have to be good with the gun you choose and place your shots. The upper torso and head are your best options because experienced players are always loaded up on armor and health. I invite you into our servers on most nights you will find some skilled players that can give you an example of just how powerful the weapons are in the right hands.

I would suggest you play in clan servers where most have meds limited to 3. Also, you have to stay alive long enough to collect them which requires skill. How is this bs? The meds and armor are there for everyone to collect. If someone has them, and can use them, it is a skill they have acquired. You can also take him out unarmed very quickly if you acquire that skill as well. This is not meant to be confrontational only a suggestion for those wanting to get better at a great game. If anyone wants help with fear there are many vets out there who would happily help you out.

If anyone wants to stop by our servers and ask for help I'll be happy to. I'm not the best FEAR player but I can certainly help out someone just starting out.

I found myself using melee attacks more and having them used more against me than actually being shot at. The instant kills are nuts.
