Do you guys think it a waste if you don't finish your games? I have a lot of PC games but I only finished about 4 of them. Some games gets pretty interesting in the beginning but gets pretty repetitive later on and not as fun. What do you guys think?

I have a hard time finishing games because I end up getting bored and return to staple games like CS, TF2, ect.

... yep, I do feel it's a waste. I plan on finishing every game I buy, but there have been a few that I just couldn't bring myself to finish, mainly because of the game. I try not to buy any cr#!!y games to begin with, but every now and then ( usually because of some "great deal" impulse buy of some kind ) I'll find myself with one of "those" games and just can't do it. Then I feel stupid for buying the d#m# thing in the first place.

When I was younger, I would buy one game every couple of months. That was because I'd buy one, finish it, and buy another one. Now with all these sales and stuff, I have so many unfinished games. I don't feel like it's a waste since I also collect :)

Only 4? Ever? Wow what a waste, unless you started gaming this year. I've only left about a handful of games unfinished. Far Cry 2, NFS Undercover and The Last Remnant to name the most recent ones, I'm sure there's been a few more that I can't remember. It's always a really terrible game that I just can't stand to play anymore.

Depends on the price of which I paid the game. Anything below 20 bucks i won't have much qualms about it. 40 or above though, it feels like I have to commit to the damn thing >_>

ya i guess its a waste, but if your not enjoying a game, i dont think you should play it. its supposed to be RECREATION. hence why i never finished oblivion, deus ex (couldnt look at it), fallout 3, morrowind and so many more. its for enjoyment. there is no contract.

I agree, I've completed VERY few games compared to what I own. I've had Shogun: Total War for years, and I've played it for years, but I've never been able to finish a full game of it, most likely because it gets so difficult to win. Neverwinter Nights 2, I always get stuck on the battle JUST before the King of Shadows (who is the final boss) Literally, it's supposed to be a 5 minute fight but it's just so difficult. So I've never actually seen the final boss.

Yea I do think it's a waste. Every game I buy, I try to make an effort to finish. If I really love the game, I finish in a matter of days but RPGs take awhile because I don't have time to play constantly, except the summer. I've left very few games unfinished, the only ones that come to mind are Turok, GRAW 1 and 2 (which I plan to wrap up...eventually!), Alone in the Dark, and Lost Planet EC.

It depends. If the game is a short 10hr type, even if I don't complete it then, it'll be completed eventually in replays. But some epic games like NWN2 series, not finishing was an asset (I would've gone INSANE if I had to deal with the backseat driving horned "lady" from hell who is jealous on top of her mile-a-minute dialogue). AGH, just thinking about it makes me ill.

Me too, I guess you dont have that much money either. We will suffer together, forever, or at least until I get out of college.

I don't finish a majority of my games. I don't think it's a waste as long as I put a good amount of hours into it and had fun.

For me the waste is finishing a game I don't enjoy. A double waste actually, a waste of time and a waste of money.

The main intention for all games is to have fun. If the game I bought was not entertaining to me, I would consider that a waste of money. Finishing a game is a secondary goal in mind, instead I will replay, explore, or just plain mess around for hours all for the sake of having a good time and getting my money's worth.

Yes, but to keep playing is even worse as I would have then wasted a lot of money and several hours I could have spent having fun.

I rarely finish games. I lose interest in most of them before finishing them - even if I love them. Games I don't love I lose interest in even quicker (can even be just a few minutes).

Don't really finish a lot of them, tend to get bored...or I stop playing for a while due to work or other activities and when I try to come back I forget what was going on, having to start again from the beginning, which is a pain. Then, again something comes up, and I stop again for a while...and you know what happens next.

However, there are games I've finished (well, can't really say you finish them, but you play the hell out of them): Civ4, SOASE, gal civ, TF2, ARMA2, TW games, those are the ones I like themost, as there's no real storylineI may forget!

Depends if you consider finishing as getting 100% on everything or just finishing missions. And I mostly play games which have no goal/no missions. So I can't exactly finish them, but I do have hell a lot of fun with them. :D I really am not a game-finisher type either. :(

Personally i feel like its a waste of money if i don't atleast finish the main story/campaign of a game.

Up until this year i finished 9/10 games i bought/played but lately nothing really seems to be holding my attention. I find myself drifting between the backlog i had built up. I'll probably finish them in the future but i just seem to get to a point put it to the side then don't go back to it.

Not really sure why thats happening atm. Really strange for me.
