Do you guys think my PC will be able to run Battlefield 1943 and Fallout 3?

If so, how efficiently? I don't want to be playing Battlefield 1943, and for it to be choppy and stuff. I've never played a Battlefield game and a non-Valve FPS online really before, so I figured I'd give it a try. Well, I have played Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and many other FPSs online at my friends' houses, but I don't own them, so I didn't really count them.

From the looks of it, yeah it'll run but with low settings (it won't be an enjoyable gaming experience). You need more RAM and a better video card for starters.

I just came from a setup similar to yours. My GPU wasn't as good but my proc was better (2.8ghz p4) and 1gb of ram. I know I would not be able to run those games on my rig. Your processor is a huge bottleneck, as well as your 1gb of ram.

Even on lowest settings it will be a slide show.

both will need to be run on lower settings for optimal performance, well fallout 3 atleast though i can see battlefield 1943 being very hardware friendly when it comes out for pc in a month or so overall, it'd wouldnt be worth playing fallout 3 on that rig when you have a ps3 to be able to play it on, imo but i have high hopes for battlefield 1943 in terms of lower hardware scalability, so keep a look out for that when it comes out

Yeah, this is just a laptop my father got without PC gaming in mind. I would dish out a hundred dollars or so to upgrade it... but I can't... :( Although, I can run BioShock on medium settings pretty darrn well if the resolution is a bit lower, and all Valve games run smooth as heck. Battlefield 1943 didn't seem to graphically pleasing, so I thought maybe it wouldn't be too high. I'll just play it at my friends' houses. Believe it or not, all of them are getting gaming PCs very soon at around the same time. Hopefully my father mans up and gets a better desktop.
