Atom N270

1GB RAM

160GB HDD

10.1" screen

Win 7 starter

It has been re-purposed as a desktop for my mother. I honestly didn't know what else to do with it. Even though it is bigger and heavier I prefer to carry my laptop around with me. For her uses it's just fine (web browsing, email, transcription).

My husband has one that he takes on business trips with him. That way he can do business stuff on the work laptop, and his own personal computing on his own computer. Since it's a netbook it's small and light, so easy to carry around. It has 1GB RAM, atom N450 CPU, and a 160GB hard drive, and runs Windows XP. He seems to like it. I know he plays GOG games on it a lot.

Asus Eee PC Seashell

N450

2GB

Reformated with Windows 7 Ultimate. It rapes most laptops and Macbooks out. The only thing that it is lacking is a grahpics card.

Had one. Took it back after a week. The Atom is a horribly underpowered piece of crap CPU. Cell phones have faster processors.

It's not mine. I bought it for my mother a few years ago, but a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 3 Cell Battery. Pretty nifty and very light. I almost want to get one for myself one day, but I need to cut back some.

Due to Out-of-Order, ARM Cortex A9 would be slightly faster on some operations, butATOM's includes SSE(SIMD) 128bithardware(2) while A9's NEON SIMD is 64bit hardware(1).

I bought one. Unless you have an issue with normal laptop's sizes, then it's kinda pointless to have one. They're relatively slow and too small of a screen size. You can buy a laptop for a couple hundred dollars more. Long story short, I returned it the next day. I could not recommend them. Just buy a laptop...

I love my netbook. The battery life on it is about 8 hrs which is great. (Entry level asus, with a 6 cell battery as an upgrade, still haven't upgraded the RAM) For my needs it is perfect (light word processing/excel, internet, and pdf documents)
