I have always been a bit confused if I should give the original assassins creed a try from what I have been reading about it. But now I have got it with my new GPU so obviously I am gonna give it a try. My question is if I find it boring and repetitive, is it necessary to finish it in order to appreciate the story of the sequel?

Also I donot like games with an over emphasis on stealth, I loved MGS because it wasnt necessary to be stealthy all the time but I could never get into splinter cell as stealth was the only way to go about it. Considering that do you think I will enjoy AC2?

Yes, yes you do. And no, stealth isn't as important as you'd think.

Eh, I wouldn't say it's necessary. But the first AC is more repetitive and boring then AC2. Stealth is also not a necessity.

Especially in AC2 with health potions and etc, it's pretty easy to rambo it out in most parts. there parts that require stealth (following some1 and etc), but in general you don't need to be sneaky, unless you choose to.

and its not necesary to play the first one. it IS necesary to read a plot summary if you havn't played the first one. Go to wikipedia, and read the plot summary there over a few times, it'll tell you the basics of what you need to know. If you don't play the first one (it's not as good in basically every way, but still a fine game i suppose) you definetly need a plot summary

Well you'd be missing a huge chunk of the story. And the first game is more free-form, the second is more scripted.

No..but it gets more exciting and interesting that way.

No stealth isn't important, you can virtually go up and stab a soldier in the stomach, but then you'll have to run away.

As long as you know the overview of what has happened in AC1, you'll catch up in AC2, And, you dont need stealth at all when playing, you can just run around stabbing people I wouldn't recomend playing AC1 since the game is not that good and gets repetive (Thats only what i think, you dont have to take my advice.)

You could just read a plot summary though, but I recommend playing through the game anyway. And as for stealth, as soon as you get counter attack all the enemies just lie down on the floor as soon as they see you 'cause they know you'll kill 'em. The second game is pretty much the same deal, but somehow it was far more enjoyable.

Their is almost no stealth in the first AC. in AC2, you can use stealth in most assination missions.

I thought you were talking about Asheron's Call and was laughing to myself that you didn't know they closed AC2. Some people spent oer 5 years building their account (containing characters), shame on Turbine Inc. !
