I am a disabled gamer. I play games with my right hand (that sounded bad). I have most of my keys mapped to my mouse. Logitech makes a gamepad for PC games. It is like 12 bucks on Newegg. If you use one, what brand/model do you reccomend?

Alright. How would this work? You only use your right hand for the mouse. That I understand so, would you be getting a gamepad to be able to bring the controls to your lap or at least closer to your other hand? Good controllers are getting rarer these days. Theres the Logitech Rumble Pad 2 - its wireless and then theres the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. Its only sale on Amazon for $30 right now. The Logitech ranges in price - you would have to do some shopping. Could you describe the limitations a little more? Maybe I could help determine exactly what you need. If you dont want to on here then PM me.

I had a brain tumor when I was young. My condition is called Left Hymnopsia. Very similar to Cerebal Palsy. I have extreme limited mobility in my left hand, wrist, fingers. Most I can do on the fly during games is mash a large hand-sized buttion. My right hand is normal just like yours. With my mouse I have forward/back, fire, strafe left/ right buttons mapped to my mouse. Jump/crouch (SPC +C) and other misc buttions are mapped to my keyboard. I have to stop and do everything on the keyboard right handed whille hoping no enemies pwn me.

I know this is way out of your price range but this is something that would do the trick:

http://www.edimensional.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=143

Ill keep looking for something and Ill get back to you if I find something less expensive.

Edit: I also just found this but Im not sure if its just for the left hand or not:

Well, I don't know how you would manage to play with a gamepad, but I have two gamepads. Generic chinese brand, they work very good and they costed $10 each.

Logitech is a good brand, if you really want a gamepad you should get it. You could also consider the 360 gamepad, it's comfy and it's pretty much supported by every game nowadays, though a bit expensive.

Also remember that you can use any gamepad on any game using programs like: Joy2Key or Xpadder. They allow you to map buttons emulating a mouse & keyobard.

I can also suggest you turn-based games that you might enjoy: Fallout 1 & 2 Civilization series Fantasy Wars and Elven Legacy games Galactic Civ 2 + expansions Heroes of Might and Magic series Disciples. Tycoon games Sims series I believe you can play all of these just with the mouse.

Wow, Wslacker2 I'm sorry to hear that man. I was recently diagnosed with a Brain Tumor on the right side of my brain. I'm having surgery next month to have It removed. I give you alot of credit being able to play with one hand, thats awesome, to answer your question I use Mouse and Keyboard and 360 controller for racing games..

Personally I use my m/kb, 360 gamepad and Thrustmaster Hotas joystick depending on the game. Though what you could do is, instead of using the keyboard use a Joystick for your left hand, which would be much easier to control than small fiddly keys, and have a mouse in your right hand. So playing games like shooters should be easier, though you would want a mouse with plenty of extra buttons to map quite a few control functions to. I'd recommend the hotas thrustmaster joystick, as it has a nice large throttle control and can be split into two, otherwise Logitech's offering is quite good, but Saitek really seems as good as joysticks can get.

Do not let anything hinder what enjoy doiing. It takes a lot of getting used to with just one hand etc. Whatever you end up with any after effects from the tumor, just remember how precious life is. BTW, mine was on the right side as well. It affects your left side.

I can't really recommend any gamepads, but have you seen the Razer Naga mouse. It has 17 buttons on it that are capable of being remapped. The mouse is originally meant for MMO's. I don't know if it is in your price range, though. Anyways, here is a link to the website Razer Naga Link.

Wow. I point out the insensitivity of certain users on this thread and the mods whine and complain about it and dock points from an otherwise meaningless level system that makes absolutely no sense to have. Wonder if they approved of it. I mean seriously if you were giving us points to use on stuff that made giving a damn worth while docking points would matter. Anyway, Ima gonna keep looking into what will do the trick for you Wslacker2. Until then.
