Well, do you?

Did you ever stay playing more just to make a few more minutes on time record?

I have a friend who set his profile to private because of low gameplay hours and i find it stupid...:?

So im intrested to know what do you think and feel about this:|

Nope, that would be ridiculous. I play something whenever I have free time, this hence I want to enjoy a game and forget about the world. Imho it is not a big deal... while wasting to many hours on a game, that would be waste of time! :D

Not really gameplay hours, but occasionally achievements. I look at some of my friends who have invested loads of hours into Team Fortress 2 or Left 4 Dead 2 and have hundreds of achievements, while I have only a few... Then I feel a twinge of jealousy. :P

Not really. I play as much as I want and can. I don't really care if others think I don't play enough. Hell, there are some weeks I don't launch a game. I *do* wish I'd have more time (and put more effort) to the games I've purchased. I'm guilty of buying many games that I have yet to install and me no like that.

Another example is, if a faild a full sync in Assassin's CreedBecause i fell to the water, im not gonna do the mission all over again just to try not to fall to the water... and im not gonna lost sleep over it:?

This. I would envy someone's time to play games and/or have time for other hobbies. I only envy someone with freedom of time. Meaning, they must have won the lottery, or they're rich and successful. Now THAT I would sorta envy.

I'm the opposite, I hate when people can see my game hours... and don't know what to say to the odd person that has more then me lol. Feels like a massive amount of wasted time. For example 2000 hours on CS:S = 80 or so days! Granted I love gaming and likely wouldn't have done anything better in the odd spots I play (well less time to play now), seeing it as one big block of time feels bad bro.

Not really. I used to be one of those that didn't have a job and played games all day long. Became quite mundane and I don't envy those who sit at home all day and just play games. It's not the most productive thing in the world.

Depends if they're actually better because of all those hours. I've run into quite a few people on l4d2 who have hundreds of hours more than me but are worse.

Never. Even with friends I never care where they are at. One of them is always way ahead of me. They beat the whole game, unlock everything, get all the achievements, etc. all in the first day. Meanwhile, I'm still playing for months. Even a short game like Portal 2 might take me 2-3 weeks to play through. I have my own goals of where I want to get in game. I don't care where anyone else is. This is different than how I play MMOs though.

MMOs for me are really about the community, so I will speed through content to catch up with friends if I have to. I also will read about boss fights or encounters to pull my weight in the group. I also read guides on how to play better, but I don't play MMOs for the gameplay. The gameplay has to be okay, but other non-MMOs pretty much always have better gameplay. The grinding becomes boring fast. It's only the community that keeps me playing.

I mainly play multiplayer games, so I would be more annoyed if someone plays less but is better than me. Which they probably will be. On single player games high gameplay numbers shows less of a life - whether that be socializing, learning, working or helping other people.

Not envious at all. Being that I have a full time job, wife, and kids, I'm just happy to have time at all to game. I read on here all the time how people complete a game or are level 50 or so and I have had the game for a month or more and might be halfway through or at lvl 20. Things change as you get older, so enjoy the extra time you have now cause it won't always be there unless your gonna live at home your whole life and live off mom & dad.

You have a life? As opposed to someone who lives with their parents? Are they dead? Why don't they have a life? I'm confused.

I really wish I could play a lot more than I do. I am married with kids and a job so that takes a lot of the time that I devoted to gaming toward my family. I remember in work I would game for hours on end playing with my friends. Now I think that time is cut in to a quarter if not a third

Theres no reason to be jealous. If I see someone who has a lot of hours in games then in my eyes he's nerd :)

Achievements - They should be earned randomly. Some of my friends in Diablo 3 plays sometimes to get achievements and thats stupid. Achievement should be reward for your normal game. I really regret hunting achievements.

Nothing to be worry about. Just enjoy gaming and dont give a F* about some statistics.

That is like the aristocrats of 1600-1700 of europe, which strived to be pale. As it was a sign of wealth that you could spend so much time indoors.

Either it is a sign of much spare time, weird prioreties, or addiction.

^^Fairplay didint know that :)

But as the pattern of responses are saying, nope am not envious at all, good on them.

I know a bloke who works from home on the computer he has clocked up 1000's of hours on games. asking him what his secret was he said he has work stuff on one windows tab and a MMO on the other...Genius! so one hour working, one hour grinding, one hour working, one hour grinding and so on and so on. I told him he's being paid to grind :P

I don't get envious, I am just more annoyed by how much time people have to play. Especially with multiplayer shooters...I find it extremely annoying that these kids will play nonstop from when the game comes out on a Tuesday, and by the time I actually get to put some time into it on the weekend tons of people are already high levels, have all the unlocks, and know all of the cheap spots and cheap tactics to dominate. That to me is annoying because I never get to share that "break-in" period with a MP game because people will literally play them 48 hours straight after they release. Honestly, there were people who were colonel (level 45) in BF3 the week it came out! I just reached it, and it look me about 100 hours! You're telling me people racked up 100 hours in a week?! Definitely nothing to be envious about, but certainly a bit annoyed! Its worse on consoles. The console crowd has some serious time to waste apparently. For instance the Gears series, I remember the first week of multiplayer in Gears 1 was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had...people were using cover, pop and shooting, etc. By the end of the week kids had played so freaking much that they figured out all the lame tricks, like spamming the shotgun. Annoying. So yeah, for someone who owns a home, works, is married and expecting in a few weeks, I'm not envious, just more annoyed that I don't get to enjoy MP games like I want to because people are on another level with days of release...

You should try looking for a online gaming community to play with. Steam groups or regularly play the same servers (for games with servers of course).

No, RL is always more important than gaming. A full time job, my friends and girlfriend come first and take up the majority of my time. I would never be ashamed of how much or how little I have played a game. It is just a game, I play to have fun and be competitive but RL comes first.

I like knowing my time played purely for my own knowledge. I would never leave it running or play more while I am bored or anything like that, to get hours up. That defeats the whole purpose!

Amen to that. And this doesn't just apply to PC gaming, but all gaming in general (consoles, too). I'm not jealous or envious if their score/gamercards/whatever are super-higher than mines more so than the fact that I 'might' feel jealous/envious that they have more time to game than I do, lol.

If you care that much what other people are doing, then your life probably sucks. Pay attention to your own life and what's important to you, not what other people think. Someone who has more time played in a game has less time played in real life, so you probably have an advantage over them. In the short-term, they'll get their kicks, but at what cost? They probably can't even afford to upgrade their rigs again if they don't get a job and make some money like the rest of us. Again, nobody cares about your stats except you. This isn't tournement play, it's a bunch of casual scrubs wasting their lives on video games. Who cares about them? Nobody.

Why would I care about somebody devoting their time to wasting it? Back in school a few years ago, I received all kinds of talk about CoD players talking about playing 1000 matches. I can't play 10 without getting bored, let alone 1000! I still look back and wonder what was running through their minds when they thought doing the same repetitive thing to prove significance was important.

I play thousands of hours a year. ANNO 1404 I have 600 hours, Fallout series over 500, Tropico 3 300, STALKER series The list goes on... Then we get to on line MMOs, FPSers I have almost every game ever made...top of line computer to play them. Even thinking of trying Starcraft 2 semi pro...I was really good in SC:BW. It's been this way since for a decade. But I would give up PC gaming ( I don't do console ) entirely if somebody could stop the F pain and get me out of this F bed ! I never owned ( or wanted ) a computer before my accident...my ex brother in law turned me on to Ultima Underworld and Fallout and his old computer. The break from reality was a life saver. Still would sell my PC if I could biking again. Not going to happen though.
