Do you stop playing some great games after some time before beating it?

Sometimes while playing a great game, I stop and never come back not because I didn't like them like Mass Effect 2 stopped after recruiting the Krugen. Singularity stopped after traveling back in time and helping the professor. The Witcher stopped after traveling and meeting the other Witcher forgot his name Benngar or something. And some other games like Assassin's creed, GTA IV and Oblivion. I don't why I stopped playing these games.

But on the other side some games I couldn't stop playing them Like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Fallout 3, Gothic 2 and Dragon Age.

Sorry for my bad English.

If I enjoy a game I'll keep playing it until I beat it .. That way all the stuff I've been through (dialog, cut scenes, locations etc.) is still fresh in my memory.

I do exactly the same thing. I get like half way through the game sometimes, and just stop. It's kinda sad.

I have this problem. I just am not able to finish some games others find amazing. It's often because I get to certain (difficult) points in the game, and then each time I think of playing that game I just think of those lame difficult moments I experienced in the game. For example, mirrors edge, I think of the part where you have to go along the train tracks, avoiding getting hit, and then make it out of the train tracks. It makes me think sometimes I aint a true gamer.. perhaps we all have some kind of attention deficit disorder lol?

EDIT: I also find it hard to sit down and play some games for extended amounts of times, particularly the more intense ones or those hard on the mind. Half Life springs to mind. I can only handle that game for 30-40 mins at a time.

Some games for me it gets to the point where it becomes a chore and I no longer feel like playing even though I enjoy the game. The only things that have ever made me keep playing regularly is Flight Sim X and Starcraft.

LMAO I'm on my fourth playthrough in Bioshock 1 and I've never finished.

And yup, I also stop with some great games after getting pretty far in. Sometimes I feel satisfied with the game. I don't need to constantly play something if it's good, 'cause I'll usually be daydreaming about it and wallowing in pleasant memories. Sometimes I'll even get near the end and consider the game finished. That's what I did with Bioshock, though I watched the ending on Youtube.

And if anything has me hooked and immersed (like a good book, movie, or game) I'll get depressed. That's why I stay away from a game sometimes.

It happens to me a lot since I bought all these games on Steam. I didn't realize that I also bought a couple of new console games too.

I've spent a lot of time playing Mass Effect 2 for a few weeks. I found all the team members and made most of them loyal but for some reason I stopped playing and haven't felt like finishing it. Don't know why, I was pretty into the story too. Some day...

I've done the same thing for a few other games, like Battlefield BC2's singleplayer and Crysis.
