Do you think Age of Conan will be worth a try?

I'll give it a try for sure.

I'm really looking forward to WH40K though, but that's still a ways off.

Tired of going to MMOs when their new and feeling like a paying beta tester. For Conan think I'll be a snob and wait a few months after release and keep close eye on the reviews. Worst that will happen is I'll pay less for it and get more.

Yeah, I've always been an SP/coop/LAN kind of guy... I might give LOTRO a chance. I hear that MMOs require a lot of time to get into, time I do not have right now, first there's the last huge exam in June, then full time work after that...

That's why I only recommend a 7-day trial and that's already more than you spend playing most singleplayer games. And LOTRO is a good casual friendly MMO. You want to play for 20 minutes? Ok, do just one quest. You want to play for 3 hours? Do several more. You can play it just long as you want.

Ive spent 120-150 dollars buying MMO games (and only 50 bucks, WoW, was worth it) so I will need a trial for any MMO.

You have not been following the interviews with the gw game devs have you. There will mounts, flying mounts battle ships "story and lore" base game. The game devs are going to seperate pvp and rpg from each other. There will be a world pvp where it 's rpg base yet pvp battleit will be a pvpve. Dragons are going to burn bridges and the npc will fix it. You will be able to climb trees and stuff. Age conan will be around for a while but gw2 will own. They even hired a real writer just to write the stories. The game will be persistant world.There is even 4 new races to play. plus there is shape shifters in gw2. you will be bale to climb montians. There will be night and day plus dymanic weather. The beta should be out this year.

there is going to be so much freedom in gw2 that asassin creed freedom will be smallcompared to it. I even hear there might be seasons in the game.
