The only thing i would be worried about is that Windows is 64-bit.

Actually £1500 is just under $3000.

Go power of sterling!

P.S. yeah that PC is a beast but 64-bit XP is a strange choice...

Seems rather good.  Although:

Windows XP 64 bit has too many compatibility problems to be worth it (get normal XP and save)

Windows XP cant use more than 3 or so GB of RAM anyways.  Adding more actually DECREASES perforamnce in XP.  Besides, you really only need 1GB-2GB of RAM to run any game now and in the future on max settings 4, or even 3, is overkill.

Microsoft Optical desktop... dont know what it is, but it also sounds like a waste of money :P

Other than that, thats a pretty good system.  Im pretty sure its a deal in Euro's, considering its pretty much using the latest hardware AND a widescren monitor, and the whole Europe tehcnology-price conversion-rate thingymajigs.

Thats a great setup, but you could save alot of money if you built it youself.
