For most linear games, like FPS's, I uninstall them after beating them. I keep most others installed (GTA IV, FSX, Fallout 3). The only exceptions are all of the Half Life games. I don't do multiplayer...just not my thing... And it's not a hard drive space issue either...

So, what do you keep or get rid of?

I uninstall all single player games I beat, even ones that I want to replay. I just make backups of the save files, first.

To me, it's also not really much of a harddrive space issue, but more about just saving time. I don't need to replay games! Though sometimes I do, if I realllly like them, like Mass Effect 1. But I try not to. There are just too many unplayed games for me to be replaying them.

Also, if I have a bunch of games installed on my PC at one time, I'll be very tempted to play them, non-stop.

Get rid of them, unless I enjoy multiplayer.

No firm rule for me, but some games are uninstalled with saved games kept, in the event I want a trip down amnesia lane. 8)

I only play the single player part of games, so when done I uninstall almost immediately, especially if they have a linear storyline. Nothing to do with HDD space. If it has replay value or a DLC is expected then they stay longer. Still have GTA IV installed after a year, and Mass effect 2! Sandbox games I usually keep.

Nah. I still have plenty of room on my PC, so there is little need to do so. I just delete the shortcuts after I've beaten the linear games.

All of my games are installed.

-

I have 250 GB left.

'

It would be a waste of time to uninstall them, and then have to reinstall them later.

- I uninstall all the games I beat unless I play MP. - I backup my saved files in case part 2 comes out and I can import my old character, but most of the time I delete my saved game. Keeping them on my HDD makes Virus Scans slower, Search Scans slower... and just takes up unnecessary space...

Kaspersky does a quick scan in the background every day - I don't even know when it's scanning, unless I specifically check. It does a full scan once a week while I'm sleeping.

As far as search scans go, I haven't noticed any slowdown, so I'm not really sure what you're talking about.

I'll uninstall games after a playthrough unless they have fun instant action/multiplayer/good mods.

I do. I don't know why though, I have a lot of space. Maybe it's an old habit from days when games were like 600 MBs and I only had a 4 GB hard drive... lol.

Believe it or not I was using a 400 MHz Celeron with a 4 GB harddrive and Rage Pro Graphics up until about 2006-2007. :P

NO need, I have trig just for games and still have 700 gigs left, never know when I will feel like playing something, that is why I love steam, no disk required, I can jump from game to game with out having to get up.

I keep all of my games installed, never know when I want to play them again, HD space isn't a problem for me.

I uninstall all the games I know that I won't replay. It has nothing to do with space as much as I am OCD and hate seeing things unused on my HD. Only things that stay on are games like Mount & Blade or Neverwinter which I can mod or replay.

Guess it depends on the current HDD space status. Its more of a problem now since I got over 130 steam games, lol.

I usually keep my RPGs, sand-box games like GTA or Prototype on my computer after finishing them.

For FPS and puzzle, adventure games - uninstall right after finishing them.

Yes, mostly linear, story-driven games I will uninstall. If I feel the urge to play them later on, I'll make some space and reinstall.

I used to when I only had a 320GB hard drive partitioned in half (for XP and Win 7). But now that I have a 1TB I don't uninstall them anymore.

I usually don't. I have a lot of hard drive space.
