I played a few games lately, like Batman, where I noticed it was built for controller. Do you all newer games for the PC come with support for a gamepad?

I use my PS3 controller with the 360 controller emulator for several games: Sonic Generations, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Dead Space (for DS2 I use k/m), Skyrim, Prince of Persia, Dead Rising 2, and Psychonauts.

All the time. Modern games usually come with x360 controller support. If you have a generic gamepad you can use an emulator to get it to act like a 360 controller (like x360ce)

I do for racing games and sports games. In the past, I'd also use it for third person games such as GTA and Skyrim (I play it in third person most of the time anyway), but I've switched to m+kb in that type of game as I just have the feeling I have more control over my character.

Very rarely, I prefer using the superior k/m for pretty much everything.

A lot of of newer games do support gamepads, but not all. For me: Mouse and keyboard for role playing games, strategy games, ALL first-person games and third-person shooters. Wireless Xbox 360 gamepad for racing games, flying games, third-person action games and platformers. Sometimes I also use both by alternating; I wanted to do precisely this for Saints Row: The Third - KB&M for running and shooting, gamepad for driving and flying - but I got used to driving with dual analogs (left stick steer, right stick throttle/brake), and the game wouldn't let me change the gamepad controls, so I was stuck with KB&M.

I play Batman AC, and Saints Row The Third with a 360 controller. I tried playing them with a Kb/M but I didn't find it very fun.

Mouse and Keyboard is my preference I don't use a joypad. I have found the games I enjoy playing play best with a mouse and keyboard. The games where a joypad would be preferable do not interest me so I have no need for one.

Yup.

360 controller ftw. Couldn't imagine playing e.g. racing games or platformers without it.

Yep. The only games that I don't play with the controller is RTS or point and click adventure.

Sports, fighting, and racing games. I cannot stand using keyboard and mouse for those genres. It's impossible for me to play them without a control pad.

I use a wired 360 controller for a handful of games: The Tomb Raider games (Anniversary and Legend), Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and Bioshock. The controller works great with those games.

I use a 360 controller usually for 3rd person adventures or action/shooters. Or racers (I'll buy a racing wheel soon though). For fighting games I either use my Hori Fighting Stick or a PS2-controller. Latest examples for games which I use an Xbox 360 controller: La Noire (it's easier to drive, the vibration helps with searching for clues etc.), Warhammer 40.000: Spacemarines (it's a mix of shooting and hack'n'slash, so it's easier to do all those crazy moves/combos then switch weapons with the controller). Also, with any indie arcade titles on PC (like Shank, Super Meat Boy, Jamestown etc...) I use a controller or arcade stick. Sometimes I play a game with both mouse & keyboard and a controller, like the GTA -series. And Mass Effect 2 is brilliant with mouse and keyboard even though it fits in with my 3rd person adventure/action/rpg -thing. The Witcher 2; I also use KB&M most of the time.

I use them mainly for platformer, driving and third person games. I'd probably use them for fighting too, but I don't think I have any.

Actually, I remember playing Jade Empire and The Last Remnant with a gamepad, and those are RPGs... I guess I'd use a gamepad if there is native support for it, and the game isn't FPS or RTS.

I use my logitech gamepad for almost all genres except for RTS and competitive multiplayer shooters ie; TF2, BF3, etc. Also k/b is a huge disadvantage in fighting games like Street Fighter

Almost never even though I don't have anything against them, I just can't deal with the added input lag, I may as well play the game on consoles where there is native controller support if the game controls too poorly with kb + mouse. It's like a wise man once said "keyboard + mouse or die" :P

Yes all the time the best thing is when games have full native support including complete navigating through the menu like dungeon defenders so I can easily play with my 360 controller or use the m/kb depending on what I feel like using and for games that don't I make extensive use of xpadder by default I have a profile to make my 360 controller work great as a htpc remote for controlling the desktop(Really wish someone would hack the wireless chatpad drivers then it would be the ultimate htpc controller and allow me to chat in mp games) I have a ton of profiles for different games that xpadder will auto switch to when I launch them so I can play them with my 360 controller. Even for games with gamepad support it useful as not all of them have complete support such as menu's not being usable with a gamepad and I also will bind my screenshot key to a button for steam/xfire so I can easily take screenshots ingame while using a gamepad layed down from my bed.

Depends on the game. FPS? Not a chance. Racing, sports, side scrollers, certain adventure and RPG games ... absolutely. I have a 42in. LCD next to my PC that I use when playing games like Saints Row 3, NFS, Skyrim, and Batman. It depends on the game.

I find that a controller really only helps on certain games. Driving games, fighting games, and most sports games are a must, but for others it just depends.

I have a PSX USB pad, and most games have instructions/bindings for Xbox360 USB. Messes me up sometimes.

Only games like Assassin's Creed and NBA 2k12 where it feels awkward to play it with a keyboard.
