I use the Logitech Performance MX mouse. I paid around $70 for it on a special at Newegg.com.
Its not a gaming mouse really. Its technically more of an "office performance" mouse, but works equally as well for gaming with its extra buttons and features. The #1 reason i bought this mouse is because i love wireless mice but i hate, hate, hate dealing with batteries. This wired and wireless. I can plug it in to charge it and use it so its wired, then remove the wire and its wireless.
i use a plain and standard old-school mouse. it looks fairly hideous with discolouration having a go at it but it has never let me down and it cost me the family friendly amount of absolutely nothing. for a while i was sort of hoping it would stop working and i would have to get a fancy gaming mouse but i'm sort of attached to it now and take good care of it as it stood by me through shameful defeats and helped me reach glorious victories ;)
What is the advantage of using a gaming mouse? surely a mouse is a mouse... the only thing i can imagine being better is higher sensitivity so it can sense smaller movements.

better design, more buttons, debateable faster movement and response time. finally they look cool and occassionally have special support for various games kind of like how the ideazon zboard or the g15 has preprogammed buttons for some games.
their all around better than normal mice.. sure you can use them heck i had a normal mouse for ages but once you go gaming mouse you NEVER look back. you will debate using a normal mouse again.

They seem a little overpriced though for what they do, i guess a more ergonomic design is a useful feature as it will stop your hand/wrist from aching after long periods but when you see a difference of almost £30 it makes you wonder are they really worth it?

How often do you repalce your mouse? Probably only if you get a brand new pre-built computer. And if you already have a high quality mouse, why replace it? Whats an extra 30 bucks over the span of 10 years you might use your mouse for?
I use a Logitech G5 - I've been keeping an eye out for stores clearing them out as I'd like a replacement in case this one dies (although it's had a ton of use and has given me no problems yet). I just don't want one of the hideous purple crackled looking ones.DJ_Lae
I don't think they're ugly. Have you seen one in real life or just pictures of one? Mine looks badass on my desk :P

I think i have had 3 mice since my first computer... 1st one i bought alongside my first pc, 2nd came with a bundle back where i got monitor, pc, keyboard, mouse and speakers and 3rd one is a novelty wireless one someone bought me thats shaped like a car. It has a set of blue LED headlights so at night i can turn it on and see the keyboard! :DRazer DeathAdder Respawn £40 roughly I spent more on my old Razer DeathAdder two years ago that cost me around £55.

Above, and extremely precise, depending on the mouse. I have a 3500 DPI Razer Deathadder, made a BIG difference. I even got a gaming mouse PAD, even even did more for me.

I've seen them in stores too, although I suppose the harsh light there might make them seem brighter than they are. I just liked the bombed out shrapnel look of my G5 (though it lacks a forward thumb button). What makes you choose a particular mouse? Is mainly the reviews, the brand reputation the price or something else?thedaisycutterAll of the above? Or try them out yourselves and see which one feels the best.
