Hello, I just moved to Windows 7 64 from XP... I used to clean the regystry every week with XP, Should I install a registry program to use with Windows 7 64? Which one do you recommend?

Also, I just installed CCleaner. Any other maintainance program that u think is useful for windows 7?

Should I defrag the computer with the Windows defragger or should I download one by myself?

I use the registry cleaner in CCleaner - Seems to work very well. For defraging I like PerfectDisk - It costs $30, but you can try it for 30 days for free to see if you like it

I wouldn't know about registry cleaners, but I use Auslogics Disk Defrag for defragmenting my hard drives. It's free, too.

Based on what I've read registry cleaners aren't such a good idea anymore due to changes in the way Vista and 7 handle the registry compared to XP. I use PerfectDisk for defragging as well. If you decide to use a defragging program be sure to turn off Windows 7's automatic defrag schedule or they'll just fight with each other.

I'm not sure whether it is useful anymore or not, but if your specs are high enough, (i.e >2GB RAM >2.00GHz Multi-core CPU) you don't need a registry cleaner. www.cnet.com

That doesn't really make sense. Higher specs do not stop your registry from getting corrupted or filled with erroneous entries.
