Does Aero take up more resources?

Sorry if this seems like another noob question, but does using Aero take up more resources than say using Windows Basic? I don't mind using Basic though. I have Windows 7 64-bit, with 8 GB of ram. Only reason I ask is that sometimes when I alt-tab out of BF3 or quit the game, it automatically puts it to Basic which sucks and DICE still haven't fixed that yet. So yeah, thanks! :)

Yes, Aero takes more resources. It is, however, a neglieable amount. Something on the order of 2 or 3 dozen MBs of memory at most.

Yep, if you play games with it on it increases VRAM!
