I'm thinking about making a custom one on their website and I wanted to know

You can save between a couple hundred to a little over a thousand dollars by building it yourself.
We even have a guide right here in this section of the forums telling you how to build one.
We also have well informed members of this community who are more then willing to help you with picking parts for the PC and help you build it as well.
If you don't feel like building it yourself though, you can always find a local computer store and ask them if they would build it for you if you brought them the parts and paid them to do so.

Thanks. The thing about my pc though,is that there is this part where the cd-rom is broken. It can still take cd's but I'm worried about it damaging the pc.Also,is it hard to assemble a pc??It's not really hard. All of the parts, almost, come with instructions on how to install the parts.
The motherboard, for example, comes with instructions on how to install RAM, the CPU, sometimes video cards and how to connect optical and hard drives to it.
It is fairly easy to build. You need to be careful installing the cpu because you could possibly bend or even break pins. That is the hardest part about building a PC. There is a guide here that is pretty good and there numerous ones on the net. You could probably find a video on youtube. Now, to answer your original question is yes Alienware builds good PC's. However, like everyone else will say they are overpriced. You can either build a similar rig (sometimes superior) for less or you can build a superior rig for about the same price. I would advise you to build it yourself and shop around for good prices on parts. Newegg is very popular and usually has better prices on parts than brick & mortar stores like Fry's.
You can buy parts from
Newegg
Amazon
TigerDirect
These are all good if your in the US. Newegg usually has the lowest prices.

I went to thatthread you told me about. He made it look easy so I'll just buy all the parts he had.He said it cost 560 i think all together.I'm gonna start looking. Thanks guys.I was kinda getting tired of my PS3 so I wanted to see what the pc could offer
If you are rich, sure, you can get an Alienware. They have outstanding customer support and they really care about the consumer. Also, their computers are top notch quality. My friend still has his Alienware from 2006 and it has never got a single hardware related problem yet which is pretty good. But if you want to save money, then build your own. But someday when I have a nice income going on, I plan on getting an Alienware. It's like why people buy Mercedes over Toyota. Because they can :P k0r3aN_pR1d3Yeah.I'm just gonna order the parts in the How to build a pc thread and make one. Thanks for all your support guys

Do you mean Athlon?Alienware make the best PCssub-raid
at the worst possible prices (almost technically frontier pc is the worst where you can get a core 2 quad extreme hd 2900xt for around 3K)
