No, I'm not gonna start the stupid argument about WoW takes your life, etc.

I hate WoW because of this:

The Warcraft games have always had a special place in my heart, and Warcraft III and its expansion are still one of my most played games, but if there was something I loved about those games it's the storytelling. The story, lore, universe of Warcraft is simply fascinating, and all the stories and plot developed on Warcraft III were excellent IMO, much much better than most games these days.

And I remember playing the bonus campaign that comes with TFT, I remember the cliff-hanger ending along the lines of this: "Stay tuned on the warcraft website for the continuation of this story...". Well so I did, but when WoW came out all my hopes were crushed, I was so hoping the continuation of Rexxar's story, but WoW being the most profitable game in the market right now, and with its upcoming expansion, I don't think there will ever be a proper sequel to the Warcraft series. I mean, come on! I think Thrall and Illidan are killed daily in WoW. I want to know what happened to Arthas, etc. No spoilers here, please...

*sheds a tear*

TL;DR: I hate WoW because it ruined the Warcraft lore.

I hated WoW because it felt like Everquest, and Dark Age of Camelot. I hated those kinds of MMORPGs. I was an Asheron's Call player.

eh? Honestly Blizz should just say WoW never took place in the storyline and just gave a chance for players to expience the adventures of Warcraft.

I didn't like WoW ( this is also the reason I'm quiting at the end of my 3 month charge period) the extremely repatitive grind for gear at 70 and that it's basiclly the only option. Also it has INCREDIBLY lack luster PvP.

These reasons are why I'm looking at WAR 8)

Well i never really liked WC to begin with, the whole Humans vs Orc's and magic stuff never appealed to me. But i started hating it when Blizz made WC3, TFT then WOW and a Wow Expansion :? That was time they could have spent making SC2 and release it earlier T_T seems like WC gamers get a new game every 6 years or so while i been waiting SC2 for 10 years ¬¬.

Like Everquest? Everquest was one of the greatest sandbox MMOs, exploration based... death penalties, YOU HAD to group in order to get things done most of the time, you definitely couldn't solo yourself to max level.

In everquest there wasn't an endless grind constantly, and in pvp the person with the best gear wasn't guaranteed to win.

Enough said.

The PvP at the time of release was incredibly fun and original and I think deserves some respect. Obviously WoW is 4 years old now and the PvP should seem Lackluster at this point. If Warhammer doesn't have better PvP it would be pathetic considering how much older it is than WoW.

ah I miss everquest, was a better time of corpse runs and having no map, before the whiney little kids took over the genre.

@ TC...I never played Warcraft 3 but I have heard from many a friends that it had an amazing story and was a great game.. I can understand your frustration and if WoW were to make another Warcraft RTS I'm not sure where they would leave off because WoW seems to have no story what so ever..just content. Oh and yes I do like content but I feel bad for the lovers of the lore. Hopefully blizzard learns from this but I 100% understand their decision to make content a priority over lore.

I never was a big lore person, especially when it came to RTS.

The story of Diablo did interest me though.

The advancement system of EQ and DAOC was borrowed in the creation of WoW, only made more user friendly and soloable. AC has a totally unique advancement system.

I don't like WoW because of the fighting. The fighting = stupid. I could never get into WoW just bored me to hell. And because it was so successfull every other company that makes mmo's copys the fighting style which absolutely lame. AoC didn't and their combat is badass imo. I hope more companies take what AoC did with combat and improve it even moer.

Uhhhh no it didnt ruin the lore, Burning Crusade was proof of this, just because Illidan is re-killable, doesnt mean he hasnt died...

MMO's story shifts through patchs.

Rexxar in burning crusade found his home in Draenor ( Outland ) with the moknathal people ..... they rejected him for leaving, you do a long quest chaing, long story short you fight 1 hell of a big ogre along side rexxer with a party of 5 ( And his bear misha ), that sidequest then ends, they still reject him, but like you.

Lady Vashj/Kaelthas/Kiljaedan/Illidan all had great sotry lines within WoW.

/sigh ... getting fed up of this mindless bashing of WoW.... you people half the time have no clue as to what you claim, please play it past lvl 10 first....

ARTHAS ... is in WOTLK expansion .. its all about him and northrend, and entire 2 year expansion devoted to many sub stories of northrend and nerubians/Fergotten gods/Scourge.

What about the people that don't have the time to play WoW, and I'm not talking about the gameplay, it's not mindless bashing, I'm not gonna sit through hundreds of hours to find out what happens, I want a real sequel to the warcraft games, a single player game.

I guess thats a valid reason. But making more Warcrafts? thats verging on milkage....

WoW was in development before Frozen Throne released, that "Bonus Campaign" you are so fond of was all hero/quest based... a coinsidence? that it wasnt an RTS campign? Nope, it was to ease people into the idea of a 1 Character RPG ~( WoW ) ... all quest and item based.

That Bonus Campaign also told the story of the 4th war ( WOW ... ) ... because Jaina Proudmoore's farther's death sparked the War betweem horde and alliance in WoW.

As much as your going to hate it, your going to have to accept the fact that WoW IS Warcraft 4. HAtiing the game purely for that is unreasonable. The cliffhanger wasnt designed for another sequal, it was designed for a much larger world of events.

I was playing it only a year after launch....and honestly I think WoW could easily do it simply make City Leaders drop tier/Gladiator or add zones for PvP (I know there doing it for WotLK but that's why I'm waiting) and add siege weapons/destructible cities. I want to lay waste to a city and actually have that city be wasted for oh 4-7 days.

Thats not going to happen, those siege weapons and PvP buildings are only in 1 zone, ( One of the northrend beaches ), then again that zone is dedicated to it.

Again, you are expecting too much from PvP in general, no MMO is going to live up to the kind of standard you want for a good many years.

The PvP itself though is better than most games, its smooth, it works well, its action packed, only downside ofcourse is the impossible task of balance that every MMO goes through.... that doesnt have static stats for each character and thier class.

Yes yes I know about SW/PvP Zone...actually WAR is living up to my expectations...I'm saying they should make more open PvP make more...destructibility. Sure it's not horrible PvP but they could have put more time/effort into there BGs and there city..."sieges"

EDIT: oh and you should understand PvP is simply not a option in WoW besides getting 2nd rate gear and being mocked as welfare items...it's close to pointless.
