Does anyone have a solution to my problem or know where I can go to get one?

Earlier, the Internet explorers I was using stopped responding and I couldn't close them (even using the task manager). I turned off my laptop and turned it on again and when my desktop should have loaded up, just my cursor appeared on a black screen (I could still move it around but there was nothing else there). I have a Dell and i pressed the button next to the on button and it still let me access all the files that I have on my laptop on that menu but i cannot go on my desktop. Does anyone know what's wrong? (PS I'm using a different laptop to type this).

You may have gotten some spyware/malware/crapware from the internet or corruption on your hard drive. If you can't do anything in Windows with your system then the only option is to do a factory restore from your system rescue disk or partition.

Is there a way that I can save some files onto a flash drive without going into the desktop. The type of laptop I have allows me to press a button with a house on it and i can browse files on there so i know that all of my files are still there. Is there a way of saving them from there?
