It seems like everwhere I look, people are saying that people with sdtv sets are basically screwed in this generation of video games. Having just ordered my PS3, and still having an sdtv, I'm wondering if I really am "screwed

It's nothing to worry about. You aren't "screwed" because you don't have an HDTV yet. Your PS3 games will play perfectly fine in standard-def. They just look better in HD, that's all. Take your time, save money, and buy yourself a nice HDTV when you get the chance. :)

What I want to know is if Hd is such a drastic change that it actually seems to make the game better, or if its something that you don't even notice when your rolling in your game

Don't know, but for movies and t.v. it sure looks good. A LOT better.

I think it looks better for games. I'm not saying if I had to start playing on a SDTV I'd quit gaming, but it's pretty darn close to that. If I had to I would game on a PC monitor if anything.

I can't go back, but that's just me.

Since it seems like everyone is suggesting I get an HD, does anyone know where I can find the cheapest one?

Listen Carefully cuz im gonna tell you my first hand experience on this. I have a 36" flat Screen Panasonic, but it isnt a HDTV, still I have the most fun playing games on it, and I still do. However I just returned a 47" Westinghouse for reasons other than picture quality for the PS3 and Blu-ray movies. Let me tell you, just looking at the Menu screen of the PS3 on a HDTV in 1080p is awsome. I mean I dont even see the whole picture of the menu and the themes set on the PS3 on my 36" tv. Everythings bigger and much cleaner on an HDTV. And I have noticed alot of difference since I had to go back to my 36" tv since I returned the westinghouse. Might get a Panasonic soon. So yaa it makes a very big diff. if you have seen the PS3 running on an HDTV but if you havent then I guess ur okay.
