Well, first thing...what is your PSU rated at for your Dim 9200? Dell PSUs are typically underpowered compared to what is need for a good GPU because Dell doesn't want you to upgrade so you have to buy a new PC. That's why they use special Dell only MOBO that don't work with any other system and you can't use a new MOBO because Dell MOBO are built backwards and retail MOBO wont fit in the case. I have a Dim E520 and first tried to usethe 2xMolex 4-pin to 1x PCI-e 6-pin adapter that came with my card and my system would shut down when I would try to play a game. I lucked out and my system used a Standard ATX PSU, not all Dells do, so I was able to upgrade to an Antec NeoHE 550w PSU and it fixed my problem. A lot of new graphics cards come with an adapter but it needs 2 Molex Plugs to power. Here is a link to one on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200106 There are some you can find out there that use just one molex connector but again you run the riskof not supplying the card with enough power even if the PSU is strong enough. First and foremost though, find out what your stock PSU is rated to because the 8800GTXrecommends a minimum of a 450w PSU, you might get away with less but it depends on how much load the rest of your system is putting on the PSU.
yep i did address the dells PSU problem but i have found out that it has 30watts on its 12v lines and it is at 375watts but i have seen many many people report they are using the same PSU they got with the dell dim 9200 with the 8800GTX becuz this one is actually stronger than the other ones and that is an average not the peak. the peak is much much higher so yes it will work and thx.
BTW do newegg deliver it to the UK in currency of £?? with no extra charge thx if they do u get a cookie
as far as i know, no they do not. a quick phone call or internet chat with a sales rep and you will have a definitive answer.
