I really want the PC version instead of the console version but not sure if the game will run well on my hardware. I checked out the min and recommended spec but those are never really accurate....

What PC are you running this game?

My spec? Can it handle the game?

Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.2Ghz
4GB DDRR800
nvidia 8800GT 512MB
Windows 7 64bit
Native monitor res: 1680x1050

Thanks for the help.

Your processor looks fine, however that GPU might be a bit sluggish, although you could probably play it on medium, maybe high with good frames.

I'm running it nearly maxed at 1650x1080 with an 8800GS and Core2Duo 2.53Ghz + 3GB of ram. You should be able to max at 1650.

God I love the 8800 series.

The game is fairly demanding CPU-wise, but it's not terribly taxing on the GPU from what I've seen

I've run the game on two different machines, and if I had to guess: you could probably max it out with that machine, though you might have to do with ~2xAA.

No idea how much of the CPU it uses, I didn't check, but believe it or not the 8800GT is more than enough for the game, on my PC (Q6600, 4gigs of RAM and 8800GT) I get 60 frames at 1680x1050, maxed out, 8xAA.

I run the game on all medium settings with 2x AA, on my laptop with a Nvidia Geforce 9400m. So you should be able to max it out.

LCDSirReal reports 30% CPU usage across 4 threads, minimum, at all times. Gets up in to the 45% range, but I don't recall ever seeing it higher. This is on an i7 920@3.4GHz..so yeah, pretty CPU intensive.

I've heard of people with dual cores reporting 90-100% CPU usage.

Wow, an actual multi-core game :). It must be the first one to be optimized for multi-core CPUs.

iv got an AMD X2 6400+ black, 2 7800GT in SLi 3GB of ram, basically a pile of poop by todays standards. my resolution is 1680x1050 and it runs solidly at about 20fps so you should run it fine.

I have an 8800 GT with a slightly less powerful CPU than the TC. I can run the game on High with 4x AA. I could maybe even bump it up higher, but at that setting it runs just fine and looks great.

Considering i run the game on medium with a single core, 1.5g ram, and a 7600 512MB on medium at 1024x768, i think you should be fine...

I think they kinda overdid those system recommendations. I'm playing on E2200 @2.7Ghz, 2Gb Ram and 4850 512mb. Runs smooth as butter at 1650x1050 on highest settings. Though I'm on XP, dunno how it likes Win7.

Just turn off all anti-aliasing and the frame buffer effects and you should be fine. I run mine on (AMD 6000 dual core, 4GB, and Nvidia 8800 GT 512MB) and it works great. By the way an amazing game

I have all the graphical settings maxed at 1920x1080 and runs smooth most of the time. I use an i7 920, GeForce GTX 280, 3 gigs of DD3 RAM, and Vista 64-bit inside my computer.

You will be fine running it. I don't know why the system requirements are so high on the box. I'm running it on a e7500 (O'Ced to 3.16 Ghz) 4gb DDR 1066 Radeon 4670 1gb Vista Home Premium 64bit. Just keep AA turned off

Not really I played Dragon Age with my 8800gt and it looks great with auto detect settings at 1680x1050. I get a couple lag spikes but that's about it.

I have nearly the same specs (2.4GHz processor) and i run it maxed out at 1920x1080 and only saw a major decrease in performance at the end of the game (still very playable though).

Even though DA:O does require quite a hefty rig, you'll do just fine. I'm maxing out the game with my E6600 and 8800 GTS 640Mb.

Can anyone compare the performance with Mass Effect? Is it similar? My computer runs ME quite well at medium detail and I wonder if I could run this DA:O.

Yiaks, i could max out mass effect with my old 8600 gt and 2.6ghz dual core cpu and 2gb ram Now i got a 3.2ghz quad core cpu and 9800gtx+ plus 4gb ram, I can max dragon age but i did notice a bit of a slowdown. I would say if you can run on medium mass effect then you can run DA on low and might as well add alot of lag into consideration...

What are your specs? Especially the processor, because graphics wise, ME is more demanding than DA:O.

lol my PC is ancient! AMD 64 3000 +, 1.5 Gb RAM, GeForce 6600 GT. Funnily enough I can run ME with good looks and performance on medium, but I don't want to spoil the experience with a substandard quality for Dragon Age. I will sadly have to wait 'til I build a new rig. Good. Thanks for the reply! Maybe I should wait until I buy another rig, so I can fully enjoy it.

hmm, I only have a e5200 at 3.3 ghz and it runs fine, even if I disable one of the cores it still runs pretty good. I think there is a bug in da causing task manager to show the CPU maxed out. It does not vary at all. Just a straight line 100% usage.

Don't know, but the e5200 + an overclock like that, is way better than an AMD 64 3000+, even if you compare just one core with it and that's a "Pentium" if I'm not mistaken, the "prototype" generation for Conroe/Core 2 Duo so he'd really have problems.

I'm running it on a E2150 1.6 Ghz Dual Core, 2.5GB RAM and a HD4850. Everything maxed including vysnc and x8 AA and I still get 30-40 fps even at the most intense of fights. You should be just fine.
