I was wondering if Gothic 3 with all the patches installed runs better than the demo? Does it have a better framerate?

Thanks :)

I haven't tried the demo, but the full game runs...well... not too well. On my Opteron 180 and 8800GTS, it was laggy as hell. I even put in my 9800GTX and gave it a go and it still was laggy. The game is just flat-out laggy.

With all of the patches in it runs just fine for me. It does get some occassional lag but it is pretty rare.

No, not way better it lags in certain parts of the game and it has lots of bugs and different problems. It runs better than the demo but not too good, if i were you i would wait for the expansion maybe they will release a special edition Gothic 3+ Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods. I hope that the expansion will solve most of it's problems, making it a very good game. ( yea it is better than Oblivion but not as good as Gothic 2 :()

A great CPU as well as a strong graphics card are required to play this game. At least that's my impression. I've seen some youtube vids that run the game at a steady framerate, higher than mine with a good core2duo. My AMD ( runs the game like ass.

The game is a system-hog. It is very good, but the optimization sucks.

It runs ok for me, and still crashes occasionally. Never have problems with any other games.

I think that the only thing that lets the game down is the combat system, you should not be able to spam attack a monster or vice versa, and you should be able to block any type of creature you are fighting (obviously not ones that are 10x larger / more powerful, but stuff like the boars0.

The performance is horrible compared to the visuals.
